Dr. Lenoir's class was one of my favorites and as an English Major, I had many. Plus he is pretty easy on the eyes, even for an older gent. in my opinion. Made the classes go by a bit faster.

This class was one of the most interesting classes that I've taken at WKU. If your not a fan of speculative fiction (Sci-Fi, Fantasy, etc.), then this class may not be for you. However, don't dismiss it just because of that. I'll be the first to admit that I didn't like some of the books that we read. Still, I enjoyed the class discussions about the reading. There is a reading quiz for each book. They can be difficult, so make sure you read carefully. Fortunately, they are not much of the total grade. There is one paper that you have to write over a topic of your chosing. There is also a final exam, but it was mostly made up of questions from the quizzes. Dr. LeNoir is a great professor who allows students to have their say on the topic. He was a great facilitator of discussions, and was always helpful in trying to explain any difficult concepts. If this class comes back around, and Dr. LeNoir is teaching it, don't hesitate to take it. You'll have a great time.

Dr. Lenoir (pronounced Lenore) is awesome. He has a very dry sense of humor, but this was my favorite class. I only had it one night a week, which made for a long class, but he gave us a break halfway through. He allowed us to bring food for everyone and it was a great learning environment. Overall, a spectacular class.

You have about 3 out of class papers and 3 in class papers to write. Theres about 3 editing tests as well. The final just just another in class paper & editing test. It's pretty easy but he waited until the last few weeks of school to assign almost everything. The books are pointless but he tells you that you need them. However, I never used mine once. The class can be boring sometimes but he's a nice guy. It's fairly easy but he can grade your papers a little hard sometimes.

This class is not hard as long as you attend regularly and turn assignments in on time. As long as you do what is required of you, you will get a good grade. The class is a workshop environment where you are assigned to bring in original pieces of writing on certain days. The class does evalute your work in front of you so if you're not comfortable with other people reading and critiquing your work, you shouldn't take this class. There are no tests, quizzes or finals. The final exam grade is a final portfolio of your work that you turn in at the end of the semester. Take LeNoir if you get the chance.

I think every prof who teaches a creative writing class takes a different approach, and LeNoir's is, in my opinion, the most effective. There are no formulas or silly prompts, he gives you advice, tips and lets everyone else in the class give their personal input.
You write in three genres- short story, poetry and drama.
It may make you nervous to have your work read to everyone, but the workshop format is the best way to improve your writing because you get an idea of what others get out of it. I also loved hearing everyone elses work.
great class and great professor

Every week you will have 2 or 3 readings and you'll have to do a 2 page summary/reaction over it. Easy, easy stuff. Most of the time I only skimmed the readings because they were repetitive, and I always got full credit. There are no tests, until the final, and it's not even really a test. Dr. Lenoir is really nice, but very dry. You just have to get used to him, but he's not as rigid as he seems at first. Most of the class is spent doing little activities that can actually be fun. You also have to put together a writing portfolio which is due at the end of the semester, but it's not tough. Great teacher, fun, simple class...but you'll learn a lot.

Prof. Lenoir is an extremely easy going guy. He jokes around with you in class, and is always willing to help with any problem in the middle of class. He is a good teacher and the course work is easy. If you don't mind writing a small paper here and then. Your final is an essay, but you will have one in any fr. english class you take.

Lenoir is F*ing AWESOME!! Definitely take this dude if you have a chance. He takes writing to a new level. He's also pretty open to working with you if you're late on assignments if you show why you're being delinquent and it's a legitimate excuse. He's definitely been one of my very favorite teachers even though he thinks I'm annoying...

Overall, this class was not very difficult. THe only thing I didn't like about this class was that we were never clear on what we were supposed to know/ understand. He always answered our questions with a question. He seemd very irritated by us if we didn't grasp something. He wants you to talk in class and he takes attendance everyday. He was willing to help me on a snow day because I was having trouble on the assignment, so he encouraged me to call him at home. He was not a bad professor, I just do not learn well when it is up to me to decide what I need to know. Although, on the tests, you can take any opinion, as long as you can explain it well. There were only 3 tests with 7 small essay questions over the readings, but you only had to choose 5 to answer. Also, one of the tests was optional, but if you didn't take it, then the other 2 tests were worth more. Do the readings and you'll be fine. He basically lets the students teach the material.

Dr. Lenoir's class was challenging, but not extremely difficult. We did 3 out of class and 2 in class papers. He was a very nice man, and understanding. We did a few other assignments other than the papers, but it was nothing really. I enjoyed his class and learned a lot about writing papers.

Dr. LeNoir is a good guy but it is a very boring class. His test a always essay and if you have read the stories in class then you will do fine. You also have two papers that you have to write but I never spent a lot of time on them and still made good grades.

It is easy to make a good grade in this class if you're willing to do the work. You have to do a lot of reading outside of class and turn in your notes. The only test is the final exam, and it is mostly opinion-type questions. You have to complete a writing portfolio, but it's really not that bad. I learned more in Dr. LeNoir's class than I have in any of my other education classes.

Dr. Lenoir is an excellent teacher. The class is designed for future high school teachers. Instead of learning theories and rhetoric, you learn to score portfolio pieces. In addition to scoring pieces, the class is required to make their own writing portfolio as the final. The class was fun. We did lots of writing activities that a teacher could use in the classroom. Sometimes things were alittle boring, but it was really worth my time.

This teacher is soooo boring!! However, the class is extra easy. We only had 3 tests that we could use our books on, and 2 critical writings of about 3 pages each. The only reason I made a C instead of an A is because I was lazy and didn't do one of the papers, and didn't even hardly try on the other paper. If you can handle a boring teacher, they you'll probably ace this class! You're only allowed to miss 5 days, after 5 he'll drop you. Sometimes we had class outside.

The man is boring but the class is easy. All you do is write a few papers and you will get into groups where you will proofread others' papers. That is pretty much the class for the entire semester, but he does take attendence and you will be deducted points if you miss excessively.

Great class - Great teacher!
The class meets in a circle and discusses different student's work. If you can't handle anyone reading/talking about your work, don not take this class. If you don't mind (and it's not bad at all) it is a wonderful class - not hard at all - just creative and fun.
