WKU's German department needs to choose their instructors more carefully in the future because this class was a waste of time. I felt it could have been a better class but the instructor put very little planning into it. Sven is a nice man but a horrible teacher. No tests, no homework, nothing. Sure, that might be a dream come true for some students, but unlike them, I actually care about my education and if I'm going to pay this kind of money to be here, then the classes need to be the exact opposite of what this class was. Sven constantly changed deadlines for what little work we did have, which is strange considering he claims to be a former Journalist. We also spent a lot of time discussing a bake sale that could raise money for the German club, or something to that effect. I want grades, not a bake sale. Sven gave us a few essays to write but we didn't get the majority of them back, so there was very little chance for improvement on our part. I didn't really learn anything and I'm assuming that is the stance of the rest of the class because most days, a lot of people never showed up and I don't blame them.
