Let me first say that the biggest problem I had with this class was that it was a night class that lasted until 7:40, and he doesn't let out early. I understand chemistry pretty well, so CHEM 109 was pretty easy to me, and in the end, Myers makes it pretty easy. But let me warn you, this is the most boring, dry, monotone class I have ever had. There were nights that it felt like the class lasted for 5 hours. Like I said though, it is pretty easy and many times, he prints of the powerpoint notes and gives them to you as you walk in. The best part about this class is that you will get a test review before each test...and it is the test. So as long as you do the review and go over it, there is almost no way you can't get an A. In the end, if you just need to get this class out of the way and you are willing to scrafice a few painfully boring nights out of your week for an easy A, then you should take Myers.

Mr. Myers does EVERYTHING and ANYTHING to get his students and A, he is a great teacher and makes it hard not to get an A. Gives a full study guide with everything that is on the tests (sometimes word for word). I recommend taking this professor!

First things first, this class is super boring. But Myers makes it impossible NOT to get an a. He gives you packets every single class so you don't even have to take notes. Don't buy the book...its expensive and you won't use it. He gives you a study guide for each test...and the study guide IS the test. Sometimes the guide is word-for-word, in the same order as the actual test. Do these and study them, and there's no way to not get an A. He has quizzes, and for the most part they are easy. He drops one quiz grade before the midterm and after. At the end of the semester you can do 3 reports, each worth one point added to your final grade. Take Myers. He's boring, but he's sweet and is willing to help.

Mr. Myers is a high school teacher, so his teaching style is a little bit different than what college students are used to. He gives a lot of homework, but in Chemistry, it is necessary to practice over and over again in order to pass tests and retain knowledge for the next class. There are lots of assignments--homework, tests, quizzes, extra credit--so that you have plenty of opportunities to bring your grade up. He is very fast about grading things, ususally within a week you will have the assignment back. If you work hard, study, and sincerely try, you will do fine in this class. Myers is a great guy and really wants his students to learn, therefore, he will do all that he can to help.
