The first test is where you will be shown that this class is much harder than it should be. The second test, the same. The rest of the tests are relatively easy and will help you to bring your grade back up. I went from failing to a B in a matter of weeks. He gives an assignment and a quiz one week, and an exam the next. He is a stickler for grammar and spelling, yet the old man leaves words out on a constant basis, and can't spell for the life of him. He will not allow make up work, and if you ask any questions on the discussion board, don't bother; he will delete them without ever giving you an answer. The class is good if you need it and don't want to go to class, but Professor Prins is a menace to society and should not be allowed to "teach" this course.

This man is a stickler for not allowing any leeway to get anything done. I took this course on the web, and it is not easy if you have a single other class. The book is on the web, and the sections are very short. Sometimes he talks about stuff in the textbook (that he wrote) that only a biology major would know. I was set to make a high C, and missed my scheduled time for the final, and he wouldn't let me make it up. This man is hateful, and needs to hurry up and retire.

Mr. Prins is not a teacher that I would recommend. He tries to be funny, but he is not. He gets very angry around teacher evaluation time because he knows he is going to recieve negative feedback. He likes to call out individuals during class by making negative remarks about answers they gave on a test. He is rude and knows how to turn a crowd against him. Either way, the grade in class consists of 4 tests and that is it. The tests are difficult, so study hard. The notes are insane and I would not recommend taking this teacher at all. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!

This dude sucks! He seems like a nice enough guy, but he expects you to know everything. I don't, not many people do. If you ask a question, he gets ill and kind of talks down to you and the whole class. DON'T TAKE HIM!!

This teacher is hard to understand his class is a waste of money and time. Do your best to not get him as a teacher unless you don't mind not having extra credit. He is a nice person but not a very good teacher.

The class is too hard to be a Gen Ed class. We only have four grades possible and they are all tests. The tests are hard and he doesn't curve them or offer extra credit. He's a hard teacher.

General Biology is just not fun... It is an online course and attendance is not mandatory... we have one quiz that is online that you can take any day up until the test and you can retake it as many times as you need to get a 100... the tests are not too difficult if you KEEP UP WITH THE MATERIAL. No one will be there to make sure you are reading. There are NO assignments and so you are fully responsible for learning. I had trouble staying awake in the class. The professor is not really bad, it is just the course.

First of all you cannot understand one word that comes out of his mouth, because there is something wrong with his speech so he stutters all the time...it takes him about 30 minutes to answer a simple question because he goes off into his own little world..Dont ask him a question either because he gets pissed off and tells you that you are supposed to know that, so dont dare ask him...Even though everything was on the internet i was still unsure of what information that was needed because he cant explain directions clearly at all..DONT TAKE HIM EVER!!!!

Oh my gosh, Dr. Prinns is crazy!!! But he knows what he is doing. He doesn't require you to come to class whatsoever, he could possibly careless, but he has VERY strict testing policies...if you miss a test you either take an essay test or a zero. And, don't forget to take a bunch of notes off of the UC101. That will be what saves you!!!

this class is an online... but it seemed to me no matter how much and how hard i studied his tests were always too hard to pass. i knew this information but yet still did poorly in his class. he is a fun teacher but his tests were hard. he is an easy going guy all together.

This class is only difficult because this teacher has had obviously one too many strokes. He tries to explain but starts to wonder off into his own little world. You cant understand him and coming to class is pointless. I taught myself off of the notes on the internet, and managed to maintain a c+..DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS.

DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS.. Its an internet class but the stuff online blows balls. Its hard to understand and very confusing.. Going to class (not manditory) doesnt help at all. He trys to explain things but makes them even more confusing, trails off in to stories which may or may not have to do with the subject.. I often found myself staring at the chalk board. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS.

Dr. Prins was extremely helpful and very humorous. I had a scheduling problem where I was not able to come to class and he helped me work around it making sure I did all the assignments. He was very generous about working around my schedule and he kept in constant contact with me, checking his e-mail at least once a day. He also made sure the entire class understood assignments thoroughly. He is very humorous and extremely personable...highly recommended for science majors. (just make sure to study the LME...it makes or breaks your grade)

Dr. Prinns is a really nice guy and a pretty good teacher. He helps you out if you need it, but the lectures are pretty boring. If you can stand to sit through the classes you'll be alright.

Everything for this course is online. He says the first day that you don't need to come to class. Keep up online though because he gets ahead of his syllabus so it's easy to miss a test.

This class is hard. Don't take it unless you have to. You raise a lizard and fish in this class, and perform a lot of experiments. Don't ask questions, because he'll never answer them.
