He is a shrewd bastard. You have a better chance of freezing water in hell than guessing what will be on the next quiz or exam for that matter. Avoid like the plague! But you don't have to take my word for it!

Dr. Compton is a wonderful professor!!! If you read your textbook (like you should be doing in any class), come to class, and (on the contrary of the early posting) do your study guide you will get a good grade on your test and from any of his classes. He is hard but not demanding. He is very down to earth and in touch with the needs of his students. If the work gets turned into something that is impossible to get done he is very equitable and fair. Dr. Compton is a very reasonable man and professor, I would recommend him highly to any student.
(and he tells one hell of a good funny story!)

Compton is a nice enough guy, but he seems oddly detached from humanity in some ways.
Compton's anecdotes are sometimes interesting (such as his story of being accosted in a unisex restroom), but taking notes and retaining useful information is like eating soup with a fork. If you show up and make some kind of effort you shouldn't have trouble making a "B" ... that said, if you like knowing where the class is going and what to study for on tests, I wouyld avoid Compton. He gives study guides with about 50-100 questions on them and yet still manages to ask stuff that Nostradamus could not have predicted would be included.
