Mr. Bergen is a wonderful teacher and you can tell he loves his job. He's laid back and there's lots of physical interaction in the classroom. If you can take his class, I would b/c it is a hoot!

Reed is an awsome teacher. He enjoys teaching the class while still getting students to learn something from the course. I don't enjoy theatre at all, but Reeds passion for theatre made me enjoy the class.

Reed (which is what he tells you to call him, not Dr. Bergen) is an awesome guy. His class is a lot of fun and he allows you to have a lot of freedom. He's very down to earth and he has a good knowledge of theatre. I would recommend him to anyone!

Reed is a great teacher who loves to have fun with his class. I would def. tell yall to take this guy for theatre appreciation. The final consists of you simply entertaining the class for 2-3 minutes, that's all. You have 3 tests, 2 of which were take home tests for my class. They are really easy. You are required to go to 2 plays that Western puts on and write 2 page critiques on each, which is also easy. Any other plays you go to are extra credit. You have to do a "murder" scene in which you can only say 2 random phrases, or nothing at all. You tell anyone in your class what to do and he grades their performance on your production. It's funny. Half the time we didn't really do anything. We watched a few movies over plays we had to read....The textbook is not required at all, but a couple of the little books you have to get that are plays you should read. I didn't read a couple and I still did fine, but a couple are on the tests. This class is a lot of fun and you are gauranteed to laugh your ass off quite frequently. Have fun.

Reed (thats what he wants to be called) is such a great guy! he's funny and very witty. Attendence is a must in his class, and dont think that just becuz there's a movie playing in class that day that you can just walk out and he wont care, cuz after he see's a few people walk out is when HE'LL decide to take attendence. You do have to act very little in the class, but its always in a group. We had to read 5-6 plays (they were boring IMO) The text book is required but i didnt read it becuz most of the notes he gives us are from the book and thats how he makes his test out. he does however give essay questions on his test and usually a EC question too. TAKE HIM HE:S HILARIOUS!!!

Reed is a theatre teacher also. He is a very animated kind of guy. He tries really hard to be everybody's "friend". This can get old, but it's great that he puts forth the effort. The only thing is that he tries to get students "involved" in campus activities and makes you do a lot of things on your own time.
