This class requires you to read A LOT (and the books are boring). However, if you pay attention in class and jot down a few notes, the papers you have to write come easily. She tends to hold the class til the very last minute. She is pretty understanding though if you have to miss for some reason. She's pretty laid back. As long as you sound like you know what you're talking about, you're golden. Not a hard class, just boring.

All of the books you read in this class are modern European and Russian translated literature. We had to write 4 papers. 2 of them were 2 page short essays, 5 page midterm, and 8 page final. If you pay attention during class time and write down or underline notes in your book then the papers will almost write themselves. The more you put into the class discussions the more you will enjoy it and the better grade you will get.

This class was a joke. The whole class hated this class and dreaded going to it. She always acts real nervous right when she gets in class and it is kind of awkward at first. She has a discussion about the reading she assigned you from the previous class. The discussions really don't make too much sense because she rambles on and on. She wants you to speak but just as long as you act like you know what you are talking about then you are fine. She gives you a short paper in the beginning of the semester, a mid term paper of about 4-5 pages, then a final paper at the end of the semester around 8 pages. They are all about the books that she assigns. FYI the books are SO BORING! Overall the class wasn't too bad just really pointless by her teaching method and boring.

Overall, this class has A LOT of reading (9 short novels). Everyday there is a class discussion over the reading. As long as you say something, you're good. Sometimes she asks you to write a page on what you thought on the previous reading. Two three paged typed paper, along with a 5 page midterm, and a final 8 page paper is all the real work you have to do (besides the reading).
