Mrs. Hollis is terrific! She made me like and really understand math where as before I absolutely hated it. She doesn't take any crap and she sticks to her guns and isn't afraid to speak her mind. Her class attendance policy is strict. But those who attend class do very well. I love her and would love to take another course with her in the future!

Mrs. Hollis is wonderful. She makes the class exciting by allowing in class discussion and mixing in lectures with power points and activities. There are only 3 exams and a final. She does a 1000 point system so there are lots of ways to earn points besides tests. She is very professional and makes you appreciate being a Black woman. I highly recommend her class.

I had this as an online course, Mrs. Hollis was very fair in grading and was always very prompt in replying to e-mail questions. Had I really applied myself, I would have done better in the class.

The class consisted of 4 online exams and 2 proctored tests (midterm and final). The final was only over the final half of the class and both the midterm and final offered bonus questions. Since I am done with math it wont apply. However if I had to ever take a math class again, I would not hesitate to take Mrs. Hollis.

Great instructor, knows her stuff highly recommend!! If you have to take a math class this is the person to take!

I could have tried harder and made a better grade. I really like her as a person, and she wants you to understand it and ask questions. She takes it personal when you do bad, so she gets upset b/c she knows you can learn if you try harder. Shes way better than any other math teacher I ever had!!!!

Mrs. Hollis will help you if you need any help, she goes over EVERY STEP to each problem, she does little steps all the time even if its a step you should already know that you learned back in middle or high school. She gives out extra credit. But remember: You can pass all test with A's but if you dont do the homework online then you wont pass the class so make sure you do all the homework ONLINE. On the test if you show all your work she gives you partial credit even if you get the answer wrong. Make sure you go to class!!!, she gives a quiz once a week and she gives worksheets that if your there you'll get FULL credit!!!!

Mrs. Hollis made "general math" understandable. I have not had a math class in over 20 years and she explained all aspects explicitly well. I highly recommend Mrs. Hollis for this class.

I made a C only because I didn't do the homework. If you do the homework an A is very possible in this class, even for the average and below average math students. Mrs. Hollis is a great teacher and she will break down every problem, so that it is understandable, and she will work with you if you are having trouble understanding her. I took her for every math course I need: 100, 116, 109, and 117. I would take her again if I needed another math class. She also allowed our classes to use a 3x5 text card, filled with whatever you want to put on it, on the final, so cummulative isnt that bad.

This math teacher is AWESOME!! I have never done this well any ANY math class in my life. She explains things so they make sense. I recommend this teacher to anyone needing it. You get partial credit on tests even if you end up with the wrong answer in the end...just for trying!

This is without a doubt the worst teacher I have taken while I have been here at Western. She is not only inconsiderate as a professor but as a person as well. She does not care one bit about her students. She has an attitude and will not hesitate to fire off a smart ass remark. Do not take this professor. If you need a Math class, take Hudspeth, if she is still teaching. If I had my way, Hollis wouldn't even be teaching.

I loved Mrs. Hollis. She is a great teacher, a bit smart at some times and has favorites. You have to go to her class to recieve a good grade like any other math class.She explains it until you get. Take her.

I've already posted a previous evaluation, this one is for all of the nosey people in my math 109 class that had something to say about the evaluation I put for Mrs. Hollis, so what if I wrote 5 lines and so what if I said she is a great teacher. Yeah she is and so what, and she did not show favoritism towards me or any of the other "black" students in the class. If that was the case then I would have gotten a A in the class, instead of a C in case any of you wanted to know! Besides most of yall were over 25 so in other words you are GROWN/ an ADULT so act like it and stop whining and complaining about something that took place LAST YEAR!...

She's a great teacher, she knows how to communicate well with her students. This is a very difficult class but with Mrs.Hollis good teaching technique she makes the class seem way easy. So if you get the chance to take her, do so she is the best teacher that I have had in math, well at Western period!

Mrs.Hollis is the best teacher I have had here at WKU. This was my first yr taking her for math....and it was the best descion I have ever made.Now Im going to take her for the next 2 maths that I have to do. She is the BEST math teacher ever. She explains things great, and if you dont undersand...dont hesitate to ask because she will always find a way to break it down for you to be able to understand. Not only did I find that she is a great teacher but she is also a great friend too...I got to know her more than as my teacher. But if you dont understand things schedule an appoinment to meet with her and she will help you as much as you needed. I know for me personally, I was in her office like every other day!!! But it helped me out in the long run when those grades came out!! TAKE HER SHE IS THE BEST!!

She is a good teacher. She is very smart and wise of the ways of students. She is good at catching people who cheat. Beware, she is not to be played with. She took my paper and did not even blink. She put me out of the room.I felt like my mom caught me with my hand in the cookie jar. I can't be mad it was laid out in the sillabus.

Great teacher, IF YOU'RE NOT GOOD IN MATH TAKE HER..SHE WILL HELP YOU OUT A LOT!
