10 simgrade projects and 5 tests before the finals. That's an easy class with an east teacher; she sometime allows students not to go to class if we had already finished simgrade project.

This was a very easy class. She was a good teacher, and she would give you a study guide that was word for word what was on the test. She was very friendly but didnt answer emails in a timely manner. You had to do 10 SAM projects on your own time, but they were easy.

I had Mrs. Hill for CIS 141. I had received an 89.6 in the class and have personally spoken with her about it. She says that she will round the grades up only if you have high attendance (which I had) and she did not round it for me. She is very rude in e-mail and when asking questions in class. She takes her sweet time to e-mail you back, too. If you feel like you can deal with a teacher like this, then take her but I do not recommend her for any course.

She is THE best teacher i've had in college. I would do anything to have her again. Not only is she the sweetest thing alive, she's a wonderful teacher and she cares about you. The class isn't exactly hard, but you can't slide by without studying, you still need to study to do well on the tests! If you need this class. TAKE HER!

Take this teacher for this course. The shortest class I had was 6 min and the longest I had was like 45. She always ends class ridiculously early and like to cancel class a lot. All you need to do in this class in scribble down the powerpoint and know the memorize the definition of stuff she gives the class before the test. TAKE HER. She's really nice too.

She is an awesome professor. She really understands what she is teaching. For the tests she will tell you exactly what you need to know. All notes are on a power point. She drops your lowest exam and replaces it with the next highest grade. She gives some extra credit but you don't really need it. You will have 10 SAM projects, one due each week; they are very easy. Best part: she usually lets class out atleast 15 minutes early.

Ms. Hill is a joke of a teacher. She is more concerned with being popular than in teaching. She parties with her students which is very unprofessional. Everybody knows, especially the guys, that all you have to do is suck up and you'll get a good grade.

There was talk of this course changing in the fall, so some of these comments may not apply.
Even though you sign up for a lecture on two days a week, you only attend the first day each week. Dr. Crews gave the lectures this semester. He knows the material and tries to make it interesting. Attendance isn't mandatory, but there were questions on each exam based on things said in lecture and not contained in the book. So you should go.
Most of the labs lasted about 30 to 40 minutes. Mrs. Hill talked for a little while and sometimes took the students through a computer exercise. At the end of each lab there was a 5-question quiz over material only from the lab, not from that week's lecture. The quizzes were worth 20% of the total grade.
There were 10 SAM projects due throughout the semester. They take a little time, but you have 5 attempts on each one to get the maximum points. I did most of mine during spring break to get them over with. All of those are worth another 20% of your total grade.
There were 3 exams, each worth 20% of the total grade. A study guide is provided ahead of time. Completing that and using your lecture notes will get you an A on each test. The tests were given during the lab period. There is no final but you are allowed to retake one of the regular exams during finals week to try to raise your grade.
If you put a little time into it, this course is an easy A.

I could have gotten an A in this class in middle school. You have one lecture and one lab each week. This means there will be one day that you do not have class, intentionally. And, the class is so easy, you don't ever have to show up for the one day of lecture each week. The one hour lab is mandatory, and this is where you take all tests and assignments. The tests come straight from the review sections of each chapter in the book, so just review those and you have an easy A. Every test has about three silly questions that you will only know if you went to the one lecture, but If you study those review sections well enough you can miss those three questions and still get an A on the test. This class is a guaranteed A.

Ms. HIll is a great teacher. She's is very understanding and LOVES GREEKS especially SAE'S. There are 3 exams and about 90% of them are direct questions from the back of the chapters that you are covering. The other 10% are from the video's shown during lectures (like what's the title of the movie, he used as an example.) Attendance isn't mandatory at the lecture and you can choose to go at whatever time you want. Ms. Hill takes attendance by the 5 question quizzes at the end of each class. Listen and you'll do fine. Also the final isn't mandatory, you only go if you have an exam you want to re-take. Ms. Hill is the nicest and most understanding teacher I've had. She's always happy and makes class fun.

This class was pretty easy. The notes are on powerpoints which Mrs. Hill posts on Blackboard beforehand so you can print them and bring them to class. We only had 3 tests, and she gave reviews for all of them, plus the final wasn't cumulative. I spent about an hour studying for each test and made almost 100% on each one. She always let us out of class early....I don't think we ever stayed the entire scheduled time. Mrs. Hill is really nice as long as you're nice to her. I totally recommend taking her. I'm taking her again this semester....

I loved this class it was so easy and Prof. Hill was a great teacher. I was duel taught with another prof. Before the was any comprehensive test she would email you the questions and answers that might be on the exams. For the final you could retake any test that you wanted. I didn't bother to do that because if I recall I had like a 99% in the class and I wasn't worried about that 1%.....lol

This class was super easy. I never opened the book and only took the practice tests to prepare for the class. The practice tests usually have about 140 questions on them. The real tests have between 50-60 but these questions come word for word off of the practice tests. So if you do the practice tests and know the questions and answers, you're guaranteed an A on the test. There are no class lectures, only tests in class which you can take practice tests for all of them. It was the easiest A ever. And Mrs. Hill is a wonderful lady and will help you out with anything you need.

Wow, what a class! This class was so easy it became an afterthought on my schedule. I would comment on the structure of the class in detail, but rumor is it's suppose to change a whole lot next semester. If it doesn't though: don't buy any of the books, only review the practice tests the night before and the morning of the test, and don't worry about the readings or the videos. She will email all the questions and answers for the Concepts tests. Regardless if the class changes or not, Mrs. Hill is an amazing professor! She is so nice and really enjoys teaching and being around students. She has a daughter that is about our age, so she can relate to students really well. Anyway, very easy class- you'd have to be comatose to do poorly (and even then you'd get a C). Take the class! VERY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Mrs. Hill is great. She's very straight-forward about exams. You don't really need the book, unless you want to read the chapters ahead of time. All of her test materials come from her power points and the lecture from the power points. It was a good class. She is a very nice teacher and I would suggest taking her! Oh yeah, and don't worry about the cumulative final. You keep all of your exams and the final's questions are EXACTLY the same questions from the prior exams.

Ms. Hill is the best professor I've had at Western, and probably always will be. She is not only a great professor, but a kind and caring person. She treats everyone with respect and learns everyone's names. If you ever have any problems, you just have to go talk to her and she will help you in any way she can. If you have to miss a day here and there, just talk to her and she'll accommodate. She posts notes on blackboard, and as long as you follow along in class and study, you’ll do fine on the tests. She usually grades with a curve, so you’ll get extra points and she offers plenty of extra credit. As a grade, we had to go with her to work with the Big Brother/Big Sister program once. I was leery at first, but I really enjoyed seeing the kids faces light up when we arrived. I went 4 times and I know the kids enjoyed it. That's an experience no other class can give you, giving children something to look forward to, or, as a teacher there put it, "You all coming here gives them a reason to come to school." Everyone take Ms. Hill every chance you can! She is the best professor at Western!

She teaches from Powerpoint which you can get online (she prefers) and so there are hardly any notes to take. Attendance isn't mandatory, but you can miss quizzes if you don't go. I strongly recommend Mrs. Hill to anyone who has to take this course. She's the best!

This is one of the easiest, as well as entertaining classes, I think you'll ever have here at Western. Mrs. Hill makes this class as interesting as it can get, and though you do have to actually pay attention, it won't be hard to get at least a C. She takes attendance, but it doesn't count against you, just for you in case you're on the border between grades. She actually says "if you've only missed two or three classes, there's no way I'll fail you."
The exams are all multiple choice, and you can get by without having to read chapter after chapter. She started the year out with more lecture type notes, but after she saw some students were struggling, she started giving us transparencies of notes. They're easy, the material's common sense, and she'll even give slight curves.
You have very few homework assignments, you barely stay in the class the whole time (particularly Tuesday/Thursday classes) and she's very flexible.
The final was pathetically easy, even though it was comprehensive. It was made up of the exact questions from the past exams, and she posts the keys online for you to study from. She even gave ours to us a week early so we wouldn't have to stay as long during finals week. This woman rocks, and it takes a lot to piss her off. So show your appreciation and make a damn A! :)

I highly recommend taking Melinda Hill for this class. Not only is she a good and fair professor, she is also willing to help you outside of class and is a good contact to have on campus. A sign-in sheet is passed around at the beginning of each class. She uses attendance to determine borderline grades. Ms. Hill's lecture follows the book very closely. While I chose to take notes, you can just highlight your book from her lecture. To encourage attendance, Ms. Hill gives pop quizzes throughout the semester on the reading material for that day's class. We were supposed to have six quizzes and she would drop the lowest grade, but we had probably eight or nine quizzes and she took the five highest scores. There are five 50-question, multiple choice exams. The questions primarily come from the terms in the margins of the book. We were required to attend a Chamber of Commerce ribbon cutting/ground breaking event and write a three page paper and give a short presentation about it. There are several opportunities for extra credit. If several students missed a particular question, she will often give everyone who shows up the day after the exam credit for that question. I enjoyed this class and feel that I learned a lot about marketing. Take her class if you have the opportunity!

Mrs. Hill is by far the nicest and most understanding professor I've had here at WKU. You can tell she knows how to get across to her students. Her lectures stick really close to the textbook so you don't need to take a lot of notes. As long as you have a good highlighter, that will be plenty when it comes to study time. There are 4 or 5 multiple choice exams plus the final. The final is made up of 100 multiple choice questions that come straight off the old exams. You are also required to attend a Chamber of Commerce ribbon-cutting event. You have to write a 2 page paper on the company who hosted the event and give a short presentation on it. She also gives 5 unannounced 10 pt. quizzes which are not hard as long as you read the chapter. I would strongly recommend Mrs. Hill for MKT 320 or any other class she might teach.
