The only reason this is a difficult course is because he is not a good teacher. He is extremely smart and knows what he is talking about, but does not know how to communicate that to the students. My class had 8 people in it, so it was pretty unique. On the first exam a 48 was a B, so that tells you something. I spent every other day in the math tutoring center getting help with calculus. Unless you had calculus before, Do not take this professor. He is a fairly nice guy though.

He is a fantastic instructor. He is very smart and actually knows his way around Math well, not just the subject he is teaching. He is very clear and very helpful. He dedicated alot of time each day towards questions and review. Its Trig so alot of the material is new to most so it will take time to understand. If you show up and try youll pass.

Mark lawerance is a great person. He is funny and really easy going. He is also extremly smart. He really knows math. That is part of his problem though. When doing problems on the board he will skip several steps and it is easy to lose him. It is like his brain is running so much faster than everyone eles. He never once took attendance and the $130 book was never even opened. All the homework and the entire book are available online through a website you pay to use. The site costs like $30 bucks for a year and is really great. Main point is if you do not already know the material well do not take him, and do not buy the book unless you like expensive hard writing surfaces. I used my book as a table in my lap more often that I did for class.
