Teacher never really talked to the students. All this class consisted of was 3 tests. All I really did was take the tests with the powerpoints open, the search function enabled, the book's index open.

I took Dr. Forbes looking at the reviews and thinking he was good. To be honest his a nice guy but the class was a joke. There are 2 presentations each student must do. One is a summery of a job shadow and the other a mock sales call. For the Sales call you must take on the role of a Seller once and a buyer once, when you are buying its worth 10points when you are the seller it's worth 100. I have no idea what the grading scale for the buyer was but for the seller you had to:
- Cover multiple steps of the selling process in order
- Only speak 30-40% of the time
- Keep it too 18-20min ( going over was counted of harshly)
- And no distractions ie pen clicking
So by the end the presentations conversation depended greatly on how much the buyer could talk, if the buyer did not do their research the seller paid the price.
We did these for 2 months I learned next to nothing.
Nice guy but I would not take him again.

This course is very non-traditional. There are no books, text, or notes. Dr. Forbes has 2 major assignments...a buyer/seller presentation and a presentation about a job shadow. There are also two short papers about applying concepts from 325. Overall he is such a help. He tries to prepare you for the real world and help you find a job. Great class.

Forbes writes his own reviews on here. No student writes about some of the things on his reviews. These really confused me because I was expecting someone who" cares about his students and is willing to help them out with whatever he can" This is not true. He was not willing to help me, and i'm a student. All he cares about is how many smiley faces he has on here so he gives himself green faces. Dont take his internet courses..they are hard as shit

I don't know how he does it, but he makes sports marketing boring. I took this class as an elective because I thought it would be interesting, but he is the most boring professor I have had at WKU and that is saying something.

This was the most worthless class I have ever taken. Dr. Forbes did nothing the entire semester. I can't believe this guy gets paid to teach when he taught us nothing. I thought he was incompetent but the rest of the class just thinks he's lazy.

This online class was retarded and pointless. He took down the powerpoints after each week, which online classes were designed for out-of-town students and to work at your own pace outside of the classroom. I had Forbes for MKT 320 and he sucked in there too. I've heard good things of all of the other mkt teachers, try to take them.

Ok..so if wanna take a class like in high school take him. All you do is memorize terms. Like the other person said on here his test are stricly from the book. Made from the people who made the book. HIs class is really pointless to go to but, he takes some kind of "participation" grade. what is that? I did all the projects and everything and he didnt give me the full 25 points. those points kept me from moving up a letter grade. He acts like he is "cool" in class but he really isnt.

This class was fun just because Forbes is a really cool guy. But as far as being a good teacher, he SUCKS. He will tell jokes and will give detailed lectures that you think will prepare you for the tests, but they won't. In order to do well on the tests you MUST read the whole chapters, and sometimes there are things on the tests that he will tell you there won't be, and won't help you out. Like I said, he's really funny and cool, but is a bad teacher. He needs to make his own tests, but instead takes the from the book.
If you do take him, go to www.prideferrell.com to help you study for the exams, he won't tell you about this, but it helps alot.

Dr. Forbes is a really good guy and he makes this class very enjoyable. What I like about himis that he is always willing to help out of class--he'll read your resume, talk to you about jobs, give advice about grad school, and all that. I wish we had more professors like him. I have taken him for 3 classes and wish I could have taken him for more.

why are my comments erased from before? when did profeval start censoring student comments? i said before that dr. forber is arrogant. if you have a question that he can't answer, he tries to make you look stupid to the rest of the class. i also think he treats some students better than others. he acts like he is so smart. i hope profeval doesn't erase what i said this time.

I had lucas for the winter term, he was very enjoyable, yet I feel his lecture on "Joint Demand" was a little off base. Once you get over his "Dallas" comments he is a wonderful teacher (Does anyone know who shot J.R.?)

Great class - everybody should take this class from Dr. Forbes! The class is not really that interesting, but it was the easiest class I have ever taken at WKU! The only bad thing about the class is the smell. It was a night class and one of the girls said Dr. Forbes worked out at Preston before coming to class. But if you sit in the back you can do homework for other classes and stay away from the smell.

Dr. Forbes is a great guy and teaches the course is very laid back way. There is no attendance taken. The tests come straight from the course notes. The final is a project. I have taken 3 classes from him and would recommend anyone to take his courses.

Mr. forbes is a very nice guy, but I think he has favorite students. This class is graded on sales proposals and presentations. I worked very hard in his class and every eval I got a low grade when I know I did better than most of the students in the class who recieved B'a and A's. Other than that its o.k.

The whole course is role playing. You only have to do that 2 times. No book or exams. The class can be kinda boring but Forbes is very cool so overall its not a bad class. I wouldn't take this class from anyone else, though, itd be really bad if the professor was boring

Three things sum up this course: Complete review of all exam material before each exam, all exams are curved so you get a good grade, and no final exam. You do not even meet for class the week of finals! If you want to get anything out of this class, or if you are a serious student, take someone else. He's all about getting good evaluations.

Dr. Forbes is very good at taking the "textbook language" and translating it into something understandable for his students. He reviews before tests and there are no surprises on them. The final is a group project that requires you to use what you learned all semester, but it's not too horribly difficult. I recommend taking the night class if you can, because your final presentation is the week before finals week, and it takes a little of the "finals week burden" off your shoulders.

Professor Forbes is great. He is very enthusiastic and has a good sense of humor. He makes it a point to get to know each individual in his classroom. His way of teaching is very effective. I took his nightclass, and even though it was long, he kept my attention. You should definatly sign up for his class.

Because of this class professor Forbes is one of my favorite teachers at Western. He is enthusiastic about his teaching and looks for interaction inside of the classroom. He will take attendance at random but he will do it only a couple of times before each test. He is straight forward with what information will be on the tests. He will give one group presentation assignment that is worht a small percentage of your total grade. The tests were all multiple choice. Go to class take your notes and get an A or B.
