SHARE A BOOK!! This is NOT a bird course like I thought, it's actually kind of difficult. Great course, very informative. 15 page research paper due mid semester with a partner. Final is a feasibility study presentation in groups of 4. Final is 25% of your grade, dont' take it lightly. Really interesting class, Kirk Heriot is great teacher, highly recommended. Extra credit available, he drops lowest test score. 3 essay tests that are not bad if you study. All notes are from powerpoint in class. MGT 312 was "ok," but i recommend Mr. Heriot as a teacher.

This course is a complete and total waste of time. Yeah, it's great to have a cake course, but do not take this one. Dr. Heriot requires a 15-20 page research paper and a group feasibility study. The research paper is total BS. He graded easy on it, but what is the point on having 3 essay tests, a research paper, AND a feasibility study all in one semester? I have nothing personal with the teacher, but the class is retarded. I haven't learned a single thing all semester. And by the way, if you're thinking about an entrepreneurship minor, if I could do it over again, I would drop mine.

Mr. Heriot is a nice teacher, and has a good sense of humor, and will hardly keep you the entire time of class.
There are 3 test, all of which are essays. The teacher usually gave us 8 questions to chose from, and expected essays answers to 4 out of 8 questions. In class he'll even tell you what to expect on test or what to focus on when you are getting ready to study.
He has some BS assignments, but their easy points. He grades everything pretty easy, so do the assignments, and give a good effort on your essays.
Attendence isnt a must, esp. since he puts the notes on power point. the only thing you'll miss out from not going to class would be the hints he gives out on what to study for the test.
The 2 things that really suck about this class is : 15-20 page research paper, and a group feasibility study that counts as the FINAL.
-the research paper sucks because of the length, and its hard enough to write a paper about anything that has to be that long, let along about entrepreneurship.
-Feasibility Study is your final, but its just about due the same time as the research paper so getting these 2 things done is a task. The good thing is your in a group, well it might be bad, depends on how you look at it.

I thought that Dr.Heriot was an awesome teacher. I took this class during the summer and would highly recommend him. His class consists of 20% participation, three tests which account for 60% of your final grade, and 20% on two cases that are done at the end of the chapter, but you get to work on them in groups of about four, so it is very easy to do well. His tests are 8 questions, 4 essay and 4 problems, but you only have to do five, and he is a very easy grader and gives tons of participation to help pull up your grade. Take him if you really want to learn, cause he knows his stuff, and you'll never get bored, and do the h/w and you'll get a good grade!!!

Dr. Heriot puts you through the endless scribbles on the board that are derived from his VERY DETAILED notes. He tends to be a bit oppionated with his essay questions and answers. Grading is reasonable if you are willing to but forth minimal effoft for in class presentations. He's a big school teacher that and has a hard time teaching well at a small school like Western.
