She is an international teacher but she is really good at english.
You don't mess with her and u have to go to the class everyclass
During the course, you only have to write about 1 big essay; she made you review and over review millions time. But that's all. Sometime it's boring to look at the same essay but it's easy and no final. In the final paper, you'll debate your grade. Just try to be persuasive to get an A. (i got 81% before the final and then i got an A :))

Her teaching style is ineffective and the class is unorganized. She expects you to have writing skills of that of a grad student. There are a ton of assignments and all are on blackboard.
If you need help she very responsive but not the nicest about it.
I would only take this course if you could not get a better teacher. You also would be better off taking this course online because everything you do is on blackboard and she has an INTENSE attendance policy.

OMG, don't take her!!! I have never seen a professor picky as she is. I felt good for this class until I saw her feedback on my first draft of my paper. For the record, I got A's on my ENG 100 and 200. She has opinions on everything I wrote. What's worse, she comments on everything without finishing my paper. Many of the terms and ideas were explained afterwards, and she keeps marking WHY on my paper. I highly not recommend you to take her. Plus, there is only one paper for this class but you need to revise it, or even- rewrite your paper. I just wanna say I was fooled by those who said she was good. Do not believe them. Those who really likes this kind of teaching strategy, go ahead !

This class is a good choice because you are only required to write one paper. It was a little more difficult to me because you choose your own topic for the research paper and have to revise the same paper over and over. I got really tired of looking at the same information and having to find new ways to add to the paper. She requires you to come to class and we never did anything but sit in our groups and talk, which is good if you want to work on your paper in class but that really isn't what your suppose to do. I would recommend the course but if you don't like revising the same paper more than once or would rather write several small papers instead I would take someone else. NO FINAL is a plus!

In Dr. Judith's class everything was submitted to blackboard but you were only allowed to miss 2 classes before she started counting off. We never did anything other than prepare for our research paper. She offered plenty of extra credit opportunities. If you wanted to get an A in the class, you had to read and respond to the chapters in the required book, but because we never did anything in class, it was hard for most people to keep motivated. This class is an absolute cake-walk as long as you stay on top of the small assignments. There are no tests & no final- you just have to turn in your portfolio at the end of the semester!

Seriously, Dr. Judith was an awesome professor. She was there to work with you at all times, and gave you multiple chances to work on the final paper. We come to college to get challenged to earn a degree, not have some mail in University of Phoenix crap. I don't understand how a supportive professor can be a devil. Honestly, she'll work with you no matter when or where, taking many hours out of her day to help with one student. And plus, it's a laid back class. And she gives candy & cookies. If you don't enjoy that, you are a fool. Plus, if you are really good....she'll give you a golden banana. But that's only if you make her famous.
Seriously, she's a great prof.

SHE IS THE DEVIL!! Please spare yourself and don't waste your time taking this course with this terrible professor. I don't even know why Western gave her a job!!! There are no graded assignments and no notes or tests which means that the final paper (6-10 pages + bibliography) is your WHOLE GRADE. If you don't know EXACTLY how to write an arguementative research paper you're going to fail. I had to drop because I couldnt find any articles on my major and she said "TOUGH LUCK"- what kind of prof are you if you can say that?!?! PLEASE DON'T TAKE HER, FOR YOUR OWN SAKE!!!!

I took this class in the summer as a web course. This class is fairly easy if you do the discussion board responses and have your rough drafts done on time. Participation with your group members depends heavily on how well you will do in the class. Your portfolio serves as your final and it is fairly easy since most of the portfolio's content should already be done by the time you reach the end of the course. Dr. Judith respondes quickly to her online students, she also offers phone conferences with her students for any questions they have. You write two papers, one short and one long, many DB postings, writing exercises, and a lab log/journal. Taking this class on the web is really convenient.

This was an awesome course! Dr. Judith helped to improve my writing as well as spur my interest in a lot of writers. I like the fact that she is from Hungary because she has a lot of different perspectives about language and literature. Although I had this class over a year ago, I saw the negative comments on here and had to defend her! Her enthusiasm, willingness to explain, and eagerness to help while still maintaining her professionalism, is the reason why I have taken another course offered by Dr. Judith. This class is not easy, she does expect you to keep up with your own work to turn in at the courses end, but come on, remember, you are in college! Work is to be expected!

Although I think this class was a piece of cake, and simple to get an A in, I don't reccomend it to anyone, even my worst enemy. The teacher is a Hungarian nightmare. I can tell she tries, but she's a college professor, and we are paying good money for good teaching. She is definitely not the definition of good teaching. The textbook, is your only friend, and she doesn't even introduce it in class until halfway through the semester. She doesn't teach much of anything. Everything I learned, I taught myself, so I wouldn't fail. Which is another thing, if you take this class, she will constantly tell you all the ways you can fail. Basically you have two VERY important papers. If you do sucky on both of those, you may as well drop the class. Because as she will tell you, you will not pass without a good grade on them. And that is the basics of the class. The two papers are the only really important assignments. Do good on them, and suck up, and you're gonna pass. If you want a grade, without doing much work, then maybe this class is for you. But if you're excpecting to learn something, YOU WONT. Even when she writes comments on your papers, you won't be able to read them because she has such horrendous handwriting. I got an A in this class. I didn't learn a single thing from her. Only from the textbook. And I attribute most of my good grade to all of the sucking up I did. What a terrible class. : (

Although still taking the class, I would have withdrew and waited to graduate another semester if it didn't mean taking her. 4 years of college and she is the worse person i have ever taken. She covers 3-4 FULL chapters per week and expects us to take a VERY objective test over 6 or 7 chapters at once. You aren't supposed to use your book (i took it as an online course) but it is IMPOSSIBLE to make a decent grade unless you do. She things this is the only course you are taking and it proves in the 15 - 25 page reports she makes you write on each of the 3 major projects. She is an english teacher even though she is from hungary, and I think WKU should ban her as a teacher. She is the most ridiculous person and unreasonable person you will encounter. She expects you to do these projects in unreasonable amounts of time. DONT TAKE THIS TEACHER!!!!!!!

Dr. Judith is a nice person, but her class is difficult. Everything almost is required to be done on Blackboard. Every class period she came up with something new for us to post on BB or to do it seems. There are no tests given, which is awesome, but you have to do 2 in class writings, an end of term portfolio and a department portfolio. The research papers are difficult and she requires you to take a million steps in order to write your first draft. She's a good person, and not a horrible teacher, but some of her rules and requirements are a little extreme, and things are sometimes difficult to comprehend.

This class has to got to be one of the most difficult English courses I have ever taken. An A is possible, but you must work at it. Dr. Judith teaches at a higher level than most English 100 courses, so if you want an easy way out definitely don't take her. She is incredibly smart and she's a sweet lady, and you will learn a lot. But be warned: this is a hard class.

She makes you write journals that are completly stupid for no reason at all! And she makes you write pages and pages on your peers writing which does nothing but take up time! Worst teacher I've had in school yet. Do not take her. She gives tons of busy work. She acts as though you only have one class and its her's. She makes you do a research paper, which is fine, but she then makes you do three 250 word essay over the reserch you use for you paper. You have to do the most useless stuff in class. Stuff you should have learn in 8th grade. You have to write reviews over peer's work which is useless. I don't know how this woman even has a job here. Take her if you like to do useless busy work that takes up all your free time.

This is not an easy course, but it was so beneficial, I would recommend Dr. Judith to anyone who has to take it. I really improved on my writing over the semester. She gave us feedback that we needed to hear, even if we didn't especially like what she said. You'll be partnered with 2 or 3 others in feedback groups, and your peer group will give feedback on everything you write. There are three papers, but she is so lax on the guidelines, so long as you write a paper, that's okay. (i.e. if the assignment is a brevity piece and you'd rather write a personal narrative, that's okay) There are journal entries and class discussions. The only bad thing about this course (and it has nothing to do with Dr. Judith) is that if a member of your peer group misses class, you could end up suffering. It won't affect your grade, but that's one less person who can give you feedback. (She does require an evaluation from each class member on their group, so if someone didn't carry their weight, you can let her know anonymously.) The final is a portfolio of all your writing. It is a way to showcase your work and your improvements. I can't say enough good things about this course. I'm so glad I took Dr. Judith.

Dr. Judith was a great teacher because she took an interest in the class. I found the class refreshing. Advanced composition is a writing class SO EXPECT TO WRITE! We had alot of homework; however, the class was not hard. You learn how to write and peers help point out mistakes before you turn the work in to her. Your portfolio, due at the end of the semester, is your grade. You are given an opportunity to tell her what you think your grade should be in your letter to the reviewer. She will work with you if you show an interest and ask for help. If you don't, you receive a grade you deserve.

There are no exams in this course nor are there grades. Dr. Judith expects a lot of work and effort put into this class. In my opinion, there is too much work expected for this class. There are several written assignments due every day as well as endless, useless peer feedback sessions that lead to even more homework for each day. (Peer Feedback, evaluation of peer feedback, reflection on peer feedback, reflection on writing the peer feedback and the assignment, etc. as well as daily journals over 2-3 readings.) There are a number of "presentations" assigned for each student during the semester and each presentation gets cut short so Dr. Judith can lecture. She is unorganized, unfocused, and she is fairly often boring. She makes it clear to you that she is not here to entertain, but some of the readings assigned are merely for busy work, and no useful information can be gathered by reading it. I found Dr. Judith tried hard to make the class interesting and useful, but she did not succeed.

I took this course over the summer of '02, and I am still wondering why the computer science department required me to take the class. She is very, VERY unorganized in her lectures (if she even does that). We B.S'ed our way through the month with the majority of the class coming out with A's or B's. Be advised: when she requests someone to volunteer to show their resume and cover letter during the first assignment...DON'T DO IT! The guy who sat in front of me did, and she ripped him apart. Those of us who did argue in his defense of stating past work experience were shot down with "you all are thinking like writers, not students". To this day I don't know what she meant. I wouldn't take her, if I could help it.

Even though I got an A in this course, it almost cost me my sanity! There are no tests, only tedious tasks such as making a brochure, website, instruction manual, and a final portfolio. Be prepared to sacrifice your ink cartridges for this class. The teacher was nice, but she was Hungarian, meaning her ideas of proper English writing were not on the same plane as ours. Take this class if you have nothing else better to do with your time.
