This is a professor to avoid. I do not know where to start. No one wants to take this class. You take it if you must. I think that is the reason for the lack of effort and the grade is because of my lack of studying. The exams may be M/C, they are 8 answer M/C, no the typical 4 answer M/C.

Mr Beard is hilarious! He is overly excited when he teaches about theatre and it really keeps you involved and awake. You have to see two plays and take tests over them but you have all semester to do it and have many different plays to choose from. The play tests were pretty hard because they are short answer and essay so i suggest taking notes over the play when you are watching it because the test is mainly just over the plot. At the end of the semester if youve taken both of your play tests and are happy with your grade you dont have to take a final and also if there are tests days for a play that you didnt see you dont have to come to class that day which is def a bonus!

This class can get boring at times, but it is an easy A. There is no textbooks and the final is not mandatory. If you were satisfied with your grade, then you didn't have to take it. As long as you listen in class and write down what he puts on the board, you will do fine! I would read my notes once before the test and I always got an A. You do have to see 2 plays and take test over them, but you have the whole semester to do it and he gives you several options of things to see. If you didn't see a certain play, you didn't have to come to class on the play test days which is an added bonus!

This class was super boring, but after the midterm he said that if you got an A and had already finished the reviews of two plays, you could opt out of the final. That was awesome. Class is easy if you learn the study guide.

All you have to do is show up, learn the stuff and see two plays and take tests over them. If you have an A in the class you don't have to take the final. Professor Beard is really awesome. He's funny and uses examples that are easy to comprehend. I highly recommend his class.

If you hate attending class, this is the class for you. Beard doesnt make it mandatory to attend. However, if you're not a Theatre major, his intro class will bore you to death. But it's sooo esay. He gives you all the definitions at the beginning of the year and has review before the test & final on what will be covered on the exams. You are required to see two plays & take short answers exams over each of the two. The only way you'll get a C or below is if you just don't give a crap.

Professor Beard is a bit full of himself he can talk forever about nothing. The course has four exams 2 on plays you have to see. The other 2 exams are on notes one of those being the final which was comprehensive and was 120 questions. The attendance not mandatory i went to his class 4 times out of the 15 and got a b.
