This was a difficult course due to both the teacher and the curriculum. She reads mostly out of the book, really fast. She never tells you what page she is on, and she switches off to reading other sources of information without warning the class. She is not from Kentucky, so she doesn't know much about it at all. Plus, the text is horrible. I didn't understand most of what it was talking about.

I felt the teaching style used in this class was very hard to follow. She goes from the study guide to the book and you never know where she is. She is very unapproachable.

This would not be a difficult class if not for the professor. She reads so fast that it is impossible to keep up. She only writes key words on the board, if they are spelled correctly you will not be able to make out what they say -so there is no chance that you are going to be able to look them up. She thinks that every student has grown up in a Christian home and that they all have studied the bible. When asked a question she is unable to speak one on one to students everything is a lecture. I would not recommend this professor.

It is difficult only because of the instructor. This is one of the most frustrating classes I have ever taken. The text book is awful, very difficult to understand because it jumps around and leaves you hanging without fully explaining the facts. It is more like somebody's ideas instead of history and they don't like Kentuckians. The teacher is another story. She is an english major and doesn't want to teach Kentucky History, therefore she gives you tons of writing assignments, some of which are not even related to KY History. Weekly home work is written. The exams are all writing. Her in class lectures consist of her reading parts of the text book and part of some information she found from other sources. She reads so fast it is impossible to take notes and the students don't have access to the extra information. The worst part is that Kentucky History is not taught; If I didn't know better I would think I was in a Political Science class of early America. most of the class period consists of information that does not even pertain to Kentucky. I usually don't talk about classes or instructors, but I would never recommend this class to anyone. And I was so looking forward to it: Very disappointing.

She is very hard to follow. She goes from the book to the study guide and you are just left behind. She assumes everyone has had Sunday School and you should know all of this stuff.

Ms. Reed is a very good teacher. She goes a little fast at times, but she provides study notes for every chapter. If you read these, you will do fine.
