I would highly recommend Dr. Heldman for English 200 or any other English class. I don't know why he has received poor evaluations from other people! His class is not hard; all you have to do is journal entries due at the end of each week for the stuff you read, and you discuss everything you test over in class. He lets you know exactly what is going to be on the tests so if you just look over the stories and the notes you will do fine.

James Heldman is not a kind man. The only students that he is willing to help is those that kiss his old wrinkly ass. He is a biased and sexiest man. I would not take him again for anything. I am a senior and this is the first and only C that I received in college and because of his class my 4.0 dropped. DO NOT TAKE THIS ASS WHOLE!

Dr. Heldman is a wonderful teacher. I don't know what all the other evaluations were about! He kept right to the point for each class and encouraged discussion, though few participated. His tests are essay, but if you pay attention everyday to the stories/poems/plays, then you will be fine. I like him, he is a very kind man, just go to class, do the journals, and pay attention in class and you will do just fine!

This class seems easy at first. You just have to do a 1 page journal for every class and you can get old tests from former students. But then you realize 40% of your grade is determined on the day of the final, and he totally screws you. Do not take this class unless you are an athlete, he seemed to grade the basketball and football players in my class a lot easier.

James Heldman is a horrible professor. He doesn't instruct well at all. His test are rediculous. A Literature class shouldn't be this hard. He is also a very biased little man if you are a athelet then you will do fine, if not don't take him.

Don't let this man fool you. He seems really cool at first but after the drop date there is nothing you can do. At first you'll discuss pieces that you read, but when test time comes you screws ya. His poetry test are hard but his drama test are worse. I advise you to look a little further before signing up for his class.
