Dr. Schnee is an extremely knowledgeable and competent professor. The elementary logic class can be quite large, so it helps to sit toward the front. You don't have to shmooze with him to get a good grade. However, he is certainly open to helping you if you have any questions. I highly recommend attending class regularly, taking notes, and completing the assignments on time. This class can be very tricky if you don't keep up! But if you work as a diligent student should, you'll be fine.

Ian was an okay professor except for the fact he's not good at explaining things to you if you don't understand. He teaches this class as if it's a math class, so if that's not your area of strength then you should look for help from the start so that when things do get hard in the semester you don't fall behind. The test are not very difficult and he uses a weird but generous curve when grading them. The homework assignments are the hardest part of the class and they grow more challenging and time consuming as the semester progresses. This is not an easy class, and you will have to work hard for your grade, however Ian is always willing to help - just make sure you get him to explain it clearly. Overall, he's a nice professor and has a good attitude, I just didn't like his teaching style very much.

Dr. Schee's Truth and Relativism class was one of the best gen ed classes I've taken at Western. The text is sometimes difficult to understand but Ian is very helpful and encourages students to ask questions. I never thought I'd enjoy a philosophy class but Ian really made the subject matter interesting and thought provoking. There is homework due every time class meets but it's not too difficult, however it's important that you come to class because it's easy to get behind. You can tell Ian really enjoys what he does and knows what he's talking about, which makes the class all the better.
