Prof Drummond is pretty much awesome, what she lecture is whats on the test. Not all of the materials comes from the slides, a lot of it come from her lecturing, so take notes. If you take decent notes a pay attention most of the time you'll do fine. The biggest piece of advice I can give is speak in her class, be involved and don't be afraid to answer questions. That will make the class infinitely better!

Wasn't impressed with this teacher. If you decided to take it only as a Cat E class, pick another one. She is seriously boring. For the tests, you have to answer how she wants you to answer. Also, the family background project she forces you to do is a complete joke. It's horrible, useless, pointless, and any other synonym of those words. I honestly didn't give a sh!t about anyone's family. It's so boring. The class typically goes on tangents that are not class related. The readings are just "busy work" that make you actually do something. If you keep your head down during class, she won't call on you. She does pick favorites, horrible idea...especially the dirty female sitting in the front left of the room...looks like she just crawled out from under a rock.
Take another class for both a sociology major, and a Cat E.

He came in class one day talking shit about people in the military and preaching about how great democrats are.... what is she doing with that vagina? Anyway, like I said, shes ok if she would keep him out of class and stop feeling guilty about herself. also... fu*k alabama, your in KY now woman! now do the dishes and shut the f up about how innocent criminals are....

The class is pretty easy-- everything is pretty much straightforward. Just make sure to attend class and take notes. The study guide is basically the test so if you fill that out it and know it then you'll be fine.

Dr. Drummond is a very smart woman! She knows what she is talking about. Sometimes she can go a little over your head, but just ask her and she'll try and explain things in a different way. Make sure you do the readings, as sometimes you will have a in class discussion and participation is graded! Her powerpoints are on blackboard, but you should still go to class because she will get more in depth with the material.

This was one of my first few 300 level classes and I liked it. I didn't do as hot in it as I would have liked, but I feel like it was my own fault because I didn't read any of the articles she assigned us to read except the 2 I needed to write my 2 required article critiques.
The assignments consisted of 2 article critiques, a few small handouts, participation, 2 exams and a final. On the first 2 exams I got Bs (86 and 80), but then I bombed the final (46) and that dropped my grade really bad. I would have actually gotten a high grade on the final, but that was when my lack of article reading caught up to me.
So read the articles and listen in class and you'll do great. You don't even have to really take notes during class because she gives you power points that cover everything except the readings. Also she is a very friendly teacher so don't be afraid to tell her you're having problems if you are having trouble with the material.

Prof. Drummond was excellent! As a nursing major, I was worried about this class, but she made it bearable! Throughout the semester, you are to write 4 reaction papers out of 7 choices, and can write one for extra credit. These were interesting and thought-provoking. I followed what she wanted and got 100s on every single one of them. Her first test was the most difficult for me, but after that they were pretty simple. 20 multiple choice, then several essays. For the last 2 tests she allowed us to type out our essays and bring them to class the day of the test. She didn't use a book, instead she posted articles on blackboard. All in all, this class was an easy B, but it's not hard to get an A!

This class is fairly easy if you attend class regularly. She is a very helpful professor and is always willing to explain any and everything that she talks about. The introduction to this class is pretty much the most intensive part of the semester and after that there is nothing too terrible. Overall, this class is really interesting but sometimes she can be over your head, so you just really have to pay attention in class.

I really enjoed Dr. Drummonds class. She is a very nice woman and easy to get along with. Her class is not hard to sit through. She actively uses BB where she will post articles to read and your grades. The tests consist of mainly multiple choice. She is very helpfull and willing to listen to any problems you may be having. You will be required to read several articles over the course of the year which will then be discussed in class. She did require us to write one paper but it was only 3-4 pages and was pretty easy. I would highly reccomend taking this class.

Dr. Drummond was fun and related everything she knew to us through her teachings. she made classes fun to go to and it was an 8:00am class. Go to class you are graded on it...and do all the extra credit you can. She is very helpful whenever you need it. I am glad I took her.

Dr.Drummond is one of the nicest people walking the face of the Earth. She is also very knowledgeable in the field of sociology and succeeds in making a boring topic fun. She does not lecture every day and often changes the pace by having group exercises or role playing exercises. This created a good atmosphere and by the midterm, the majority of the class became pretty close.
Her test questions can be a little tricky but the majority of them come directly from the review game played before the test. I did poorly on the exams but still managed a good grade because of a plethora of online homework assignments that you receive 100% for completing. She also gives credit for attendance and three writing assignments that aren't difficult. Our class also received several extra credit opportunities. So, if you aren't a good test taker, you can still do fine.
The only negative that I noticed about Dr.Drummond is that she seemed to have trouble at keeping up with Blackboard grades at times, but upon notification of any problems, she was very quick to correct.
If you have the opportunity to take one of her classes, I would highly recommend it.

Dr. Drummond may be new at the university but she is a shot in the arm for the whole academic process. She expects university students to work like they were doing somethuing for themselves. I learned a great deal from her and I recommend her as a teacher, mentor, and all around good person. She cares about what she is doing and is passionate about her knowledge and tries to help anyone who asks. I quess maybe I just feel that not to many students that are in college are doing it for themselves. Duh!! I thought the purpose of a university education was to learn something and if something is hard-won, oh how sweet the reward! I am not talking about a job I am talking about knowledge. From knowledge comes wisdom, from wisdom comes right decisions, and from right decisions comes a life worthwhile. Take her classes and then work...

Dr. Drummond is very intelligent, approachable, and extremely knowledgable about her field. If you are like me, this class is mandatory for the Sociology major, and it is not the most interesting of subjects. Dr. Drummond goes above and beyond to incorporate many examples in her lectures and makes the material as interesting as possible. She is an awesome awesome professor, and is ready and willing to help students out of the classroom if they are having trouble with the material. I wish I had taken her for more classes at WKU, and strongly recommend her to anyone who has to take this class for a requirement or is interested in the Methods area. Her grading system is extremely fair and makes it almost impossible for anyone who exhibits any kind of effort to get below a C. If you are a Socl. major a Drummond class is a must! Good luck everyone!

Dr. Drummond is a great professor who is fair and easy to get along with. I should point out that there are somethings people should be aware of when taking this course with Dr. Drummond. She uses power point a great deal in her lectures, but she doesn't always put everything on the slide, so be sure to take good notes on what she is saying as well, copying only the slides makes it much more difficult to do well on her exams, esspecially since there are only three and a good deal of time can go by between exams. Also coming to class is not required, but attendence nearly accounts for nearly a fifth of your grade. Also do the assignments from the book, it's an easy grade and you can do a weeks worth of assignments in about 20 minutes and turn them in early and have to worry until the next week. Also she curves the tests a few points usually. She makes the class fun and painless as possible.

About half way through this course, I was scared about my final grade. I really wanted a B but just knew I would recieve a C. As it turned out, I got the grade I wanted and realized the course wasn't as hard as I made it out to be. Dr. Drummond is a very nice lady and really knows her stuff. I had a family emergency on an exam day and she allowed me to make it up later. Great teacher that makes a boring topic easy to understand!

Ms. Drummond is a fairly good teacher. She gets kind of boring at times. You don't have to take notes everyday. She lets you pick two days that you want to take notes and then type them and she will put them on her website. THis is really good because right before the tests you can go and print off the notes. She gives you a study guide before the tests which are pretty helpful. She does have 6 reaction papers that she makes you do, but you only have to do 5 of the 6. We had to also read articles before every class and read a book. Overall this class was good because I learned a lot, but she did give a crap load of busy work-like her class was the only one that we had!

Dr. Drummond is one of the most caring teachers I have ever encountered. She understands that students have lives outside of school and that it may sometimes interfer with school. She is willing to take time out of her day to help a student until he/she understands the concept completely, which I find a rare. If ever in doubt, just talk to her and she will try to make things work.

Drummond tries. She really does. She is a nice person, and knows her material fairly well. However, she is new to this whole "teaching" thing. I think given a very interesting topic to discuss, she is still hard to pay attention to. She is pretty dry in her lectures and gives a lot of notes. If you know the subject, you'll do fine. If not, good luck picking up on it.

Prof Drummond is a great teacher! She honestly cares about all of her students and will do anything to help you out. I had her for the methods class. No matter who teaches it, it is going to be boring, but with Drummond, she'll make it easier. It is her first semester teaching it and she seems to be doing fine. There is a lot of work involved and it seems like busy work, but it pays off in the end. The tests cover a large portion of the semester, but isn't as bad as most would think. I would suggest not taking the class, but since it's manditory for soc majors, definitley take it with Prof Drummond.

Dr. Drummond is a great professor. She is very nice and actually takes the time to get to know her students. She has great teaching methods, but is definately a difficult teacher, but fair at the same time. I would suggest going to class because there is a homework assignment due practically everyday. Tests are multiple choice, some questions are pretty tricky, but if you study it shouldnt be a problem. I definately recommend any Sociology student to take one of her classes.

Dr. Drummond is a great sociology teacher. She has a lot of experience in this field and knows what she is doing. She gives a lot of notes, but all of them are made for you to copy down on powerpoint. She has her own website for this class so that helps out alot. The tests are pretty difficult, but do able. Every week you are required to read 2 selections and on one of the days write a one page discussion paper in response to the reading/ Overall the class is great.
