Well, if you like hearing "yeah yeah" and "what what" said together, this is the class for you. This class is pointless and an absolute bore to be in. I just so happen to have about 5 football players in my class and that made it just a little more interesting when the made fun of her. She is very difficult to talk to, and will fail you if you miss more than 3 classes. Homework around every week. 4 tests of 100pts ea., and a final of 200pts. Very smart woman but the social skills of a friggen newborn.

I felt ridiculous enrolling in a general math course because I thought it would be a breeze since math isn't that difficult to me. You really have to work understand what she's saying in class because she confuses herself. Homework assignments are graded on correct answers, not effort. Oh, p.s. there's only 2 or 3 problems on the test. Good luck.

This class was terrible!! Dr. Russlle is very smart, but I don't think she's able to come down to the lower level to teach. If you already know the math, and don't need to be taught it, this class will be very easy. But if you need any kind of help, get it else where. The tests are 100 pts, four questions, and your highest is doubled for a totall of 400 pts. Hw is 100, and yoru lowest droped. There is also 50 class participation pts, and the final is 350pts, 7 questions, comprehensive. This is a very hard class for a 109 as far as grading, and overall hard as well. Dr. Russell is also very soft spoken and passive when it comes to her teaching style. She comes off as not knowing what she's talking about even though she may. Overall, I hated this class and having to go every day. She's hard to understand, and made the class harder than it needed to be. Take someone else if at all possible.

Where to begin? This teacher is new to this campus and she is a quite young woman. She may be genius but, she cannot teach or connect with her students. She is confusing and when you ask her a question, she never seems to answer it or actually help you understand. I have only left this class happy twice and that was because I got out early because I was done with my test. You have 5 homework problems every week, 3 tests made up of 4 questions, and a final. The tests dont seem to relate to the homework or practice problems she gives but, the tests are usually easier than any homework (which is taken up for a grade.) Basically, if you are not strong in math or have not had Algebra 1 or 2 in high school- DO NOT TAKE HER. The only reason I have an A is because I already know all of the material; if I did not have any prior knowledge of math, I would have an F because she cannot teach.

Dr. Russell is interesting. She is an absolute genious (came from Harvard) but she has the mannerisms of a 7 year old. You'll wonder where she's from because she seems to have an accent, but she says she's from the US. She knows her stuff, but sometimes has a hard time explaining it in a way that is easy for college students who hate math to understand. She is very patient though and willing to answer all questions. There is a homework assignment due once a week, but they only have 5 questions. Tests have 4 or 5 problems and are usually pretty easy.

Professor Russell....gosh. Where do I begin? To start off, you wont be able to concentrate on any of the material for the way this lady talks. If you ask a question like "Can you explain that again?" her response is " uhm..sure...ok, lets move on."????? She is so smart that she does not know how to break anything down for you to understand anything. When she works thing out on the board, the math tutors in the math lab couldn't even figure out what the heck she was doing. Everyone in my class was lost, and thats why I had to drop her. I am a good student, and Im smart. This class with Rusell would have ruined my GPA. She has absolutely no people skills, and especially no teaching skills. Trust me, do not take her! She is crazy but the only plus about her is that she is funny to listen to when she tries to explain things.

Dr. Russell is extremly knowleagable of the topic, however, she can not communicate with her students. She has no teaching skills that would enable her to be understood by her students. If you desire a class where the teacher can explain the problems throughly to where you understand the material, then don't take this class. If you want to be confused as hell when you walk out of there everyday, she's the teacher for you!!! She is also caddy when it comes to attendance. If you ever plan on leaving class early because another class takes presendence over her's, expect to miss 100 points bonus that she will award to the rest of the class except you. I don't like the class, and quit frankly I don't like her. She is childish rather than professional.
