Guy is a dick. I misspelled 2 painting titles by 1 letter and he counted them wrong. I asked him about it after class and he said I could have taken off on other areas. Class wasn't terribly hard, he's just a ass. Take Cartwright instead.

This guy is just full of himself like many professors, he doesn't care about what you write about. Only cares about the spelling and commas. ITS ART!!! Also half the time when he sends back graded work there will be only 4 grammar mistakes yet he takes off severely for them. Very unreasonable.

Dr. Jordan is a fantastic teacher and the course was great! I took Art 105 as a web course. Dr. Jordan's class requires you to write 10 essays and a 3-essay final. He has all of the essay questions posted in the assignments section on blackboard at the beginning of the semester. This is great because you know what you need to collect facts about before you read the section of the book or watch the tegrity lecture. I received nothing less than an 89, and nothing more than a 97 on my essays (which were between 1 - 1 & 1/2 pages long). He dosen't expect much, just check out the question, watch the lecture, and write a page or so on the subject. Writing is a skill you will have to master both in college and in the real world.

Im taking the online section of this course as we speak. I have never been so frustrated with a ONLINE course ever. For starters its a online class so cut us some slack the majority of people take online because they have a huge amount of work and cannot make it to campus. He doesn't understand this...his online section is just like a in lecture class. You have to watch like 2 hours worth of lectures a week on Tegrity (Problem One). Problem two, you need to take notes over these; reading the book really doesnt help as his essay questions are so specific. The class is based from 10 essays each worth 100pts. He grades like a damn fool; he gives people 95, 85, 75 etc. (others in the class have discussed such) so its always a grade like such. Im an over achiever he said I wrote too much so I wrote less and since Ive listened to his suggestions my grade has only decreased! Third, there is no bonus as of yet and lastly the essays he asks you to write on are so narrow of a topic that it's too hard for a 100 level course to grasp. I DO NOT SUGGEST!

Guy is animated in his lectures. Each class if full of PowerPoint pictures and his lectures on information about each slide. If you attend each class, take notes you'll do fine. He does review at the beginning of each class really quick over the previous class PowerPoint which is great if you do have to miss a class, and he does a very good review before the midterm and final. He's started doing unannounced quizzes that are multiple choice but they are easy if you've been in class. Also he'll have about 3 extra credit opportunities on random days. Midterm and final require you to list the date, title and maker of the object and list everything you know about the object for 5 objects. Then you have to do the same for the last two objects and compare and contrast them in an essay. I've had him for all of my art history classes and I've got A's in all of them. If you show up and studying you'll do fine.

Dr. Jordan is by far the best professor I've had here at Western. He is so awesome! He's helpful and super friendly. His office door is always open and he always responds to questions sent by e-mail. He does tend to talk a little fast, but if you ask him to repeat something, he wont get mad. His tests are identification and comparitive essay. But it's not that hard, and he's not a very strict grader either. If you make an effort, he'll do anything he can to help you out. Take Dr. Jordan...you'll be glad you did and you'll learn ALOT!

Dr. Jordan is without a doubt the best professor I've had in my 3 years at Western. He is so helpful, and will drop anything to assist a poor, confused student like myself. He's really funny, and he just has this real "good guy" vibe about him.
The only bad thing though is that he tends to fly through the notes and slides. So, if you write slow, you may tend to get a little annoyed. But don't worry, if you ask him to go back he will.
Take Dr. Jordan!! He is AWESOME!!!

Guy Jordan is a great teacher. He's really funny and he knows his material. He goes over all the slides from the previously class day every class so that we know what he's talking about. There is a book for this class but we dont use it because he takes the images from that book and puts them on powerpoint. but it is wise to keep the book because he goes really fast in his lectures so in case your not able to get any notes from his lectures the book really helps. you out. That's what I usually do is get the notes from the book.
