Western Kentucky University / G / Dorsey Grice

This class is pretty easy. Yes, dorsey grice is probably senile and all he does in class is tell crazy stories, but he's nice and doesnt' want anyone in his class to do bad. The questions on the test are questionable themselves just b/c I don't know where he gets them from. 99.9% of the material on the tests were NOT discussed in class. However, if you do bad (which the class usually always does) he will put a nice big curve on there to help you out. If you don't want to learn anything about psychology, but have to take the class, dorsey is your man!

This is the easiest class I have ever had. I got a C in the class, but I NEVER went, and I missed a test completely and never made it up. He had about three lecture quizzes, and I only took one of them. If you actually go to class you'll get an A. To study for his tests, I just would read the chapters he assigned in the book, and I had an old edition of the textbook, but it was basically the same thing. Since I wasn't ever in class, I couldn't study the notes. The few times I did go were pointless...hardly anyone was in class and we never took any notes worth reading or studying. He is a nice guy and he curves so everyone passes.

I highly recommend this class. Dr. Grice is funny and really knows his stuff. He does tend to ramble a bit but it keep the class interesting. Altough attendance isn't mandatory, he will help you with your grade if you come to class. He really does everthing to help his students in any way he can. Also his grading scale is set so that you can't fail.

Dr. Grice is a very nice man but he teaches very uniquely. He does not follow an outline or look at any notes. He just lectures about random stuff. It is an ok class but it is hard to know how to study for his tests because the notes are so random.

He says to get your textbook, but he doesn't go by it, if you read it before the test it will not help you, he goes by his notes. If you like good lectures this is not the prof. to take, he puts me to sleep just listening to him. He rambles on and on and gets off subject very easy. Study for his tests more than you think you should. He's a nice a guy but I wouldn't refer him to any of my friends, because i don't believe i really learned anything from his class.

This class was very hard in the sense that what he talks about in class is not what is on the test. I still don't know where he got his test questions from. I was one of only three to get an A in my class and it took a LOT of HARD work. He's a senile old mand and I would not reccomend taking his class!

he is a wonderful and funny guy, but shouldn't be teaching. He makes sexist comments which are funny but gets old after a while. all he talks about is his horses. He doesnt give you any guidelines, no study guides and he puts no notes for you. dont take this guy!

Dr. Grice is an overall great guy. I think that the person who gave him a bad eval probably didn't attend his class very much. He is old, but he approaches everyone in the class with respect. He understands that since attendance is not mandatory that everyone will not come, but almost every time he tells those of us who do come thank you. He is truely glad to have you in his class. Granted he doesn't write much on the board, but his lectures are rewarding. Know the terms in the book and study for around 1.5-2 hours and you will be fine. Some of the questions are tricky, but he is real open to helping you out with your grade. He gives you extra credit and says that if you come to class he will help you. He is great, like I said. Also his grading scale is set up so there is no F's; you cannot fail. Also the C's range from 70-65% which gives you a lot of room to work with. I recommend taking Dr. Grice strongly.

Dr. Grice is very funny, but you have to be patient with him. He is really old and in poor health, but he knows what is going on. If you want a certain grade from him he will help you get it. It is a little hard to prepare for his tests if you rely on the lectures. Read the book and know the terms. Attendance is not mandatory, but if you show up a lot and he knows your face, he will work with you on your grade. He can be persuaded into resheduling tests and giving extra credit. Don't be afraid to work with him. Oh yeah, his grading scale is set so that YOU CAN NOT FAIL.

I have taken Dr. Grice for Psy 100 as well. He is a horrible teacher. He does not teach , just sits in a chair and lectures. His tests are not based on notes given in class. He is boring and from another century basically. I got Bs in both his classes and I thought they were hard.
