Dr. Paprocki is an excellent professor. There are about 4 tests and several small quizzes and homework assignments in this class. Also, there is a very short powerpoint presentation over a country at the end of the semester.

This class is extremely easy to succeed in. The course is taught how an elementary course should be taught. She doesn't expect you to know anything when you go in. So, if you do already know some, it's even better. :o) There is quite a bit of memorization and the class is kinda boring, but it's not bad. The only thing I didn't like was how she had each class period planned out from minute to minute. It seems like she is in a hurry the entire time to fit a bunch of material in, and it can get annoying because she spends too much time on going around the class asking how many sisters/brothers you have (in spanish) for example. I just really didn't feel like going sometimes. She is probably one of the best people to take if you have to have a foreign language, though.

My knowledge of Spanish is nil. I barely studied. Yet I still got a B. Dr. Paprocki's course isn't hard. You take hardly any notes and most of the time spent in class is on oral exercises. It's one of those courses where you'll be almost just as well off to memorize the material as to really learn it.
The exams have a little bit of everything. I thought this was strange: on the exams, knowing what the words mean in English isn't usually as important as knowing the proper forms of the words (yo/tu/nosotros/etc). There are 4 or 5 exams, plus the cumulative final, and about as many quizzes.
You'll also have to do a brief presentation (2 to 3 minutes) on a nation that speaks Spanish -- an easy 50 points. You can also write a review of a Spanish movie and pick up some extra credit.
Dr. Paprocki loves to teach and has a good sense of humor. If you need any help, she'll do what she can.

Dr Paprocki's class was really easy to follow and I believe she is very organized. She is a pretty cool and nice person and her class was fairly good...just a big routine. Go over the material in class for 3 chapters...take a test....get an A. Regurgetate the text onto the exam and you get an A.

This course is basically what it says. You go to class and talk about different things in Spanish. Paprocki is very nice and will work with you where you are. Some reading of articles, no books. Sometimes she'll have you write a response. Biggest grades come from short in class presentations and vocabulary lists (you must write down 10 new words you hear/read/see/learn a week). Good class.

The problem with Paprocki is this: her class is so darn boring, it was hard for me to get up the gumption to go. I have had her for more beginning level spanish, and it was fine then because more attention was needed. I don' think she should be teaching an upper level course because she was completley boring. The only reason I made a B instead of an A is because she gives points on participation, and if you don't talk in class EVERY DAY then you lose points. But how can you talk when you can barely stay AWAKE???

Dr. Paprocki is a great person. She makes class pretty fun. However, I don't think I learned too much from her class. All the class did was refresh my memory on the subject. She grades really easy on her tests, and it's really easy to get an A in her class if you show up and turn everything in.

This class, along with all of Paprocki's classes, is a joke. Don't get me wrong - she is the nicest person in the world. But if you really want a challenge and want to learn spanish, do not take her. If you are looking for an easy A, go to hell. Or take Paprocki. My retarded dog could get an A in her class.

There are five one page papers and you get to redo each and average your grade. That's 50% of your grade. Then there are a few grammar quizzes over a review of everything from the present to the imperfect subjunctive. Thats like 20%. then there is 15% participation and 15% in class paper for a final. If you know Spanish fairly well it is pretty easy. Otherwise the papers might be difficult.

Dr. Paprocki is a very good teacher. She speaks Spanish in class, but not so fast that you can't understand her. She really wants you to learn it and speak it so she will make you do activities out loud either in pairs or as a class. It was a fun class. We watched a Spanish soap, did CD-ROM activities and after the final we went out to Puerto's for lunch. It was a fun class, and she was very understanding about late assignments and absences.

Ms. Paprocki knows Spanish better than she knows English. Unfortunately, she expects her students to do the same. Attendance was required, so I went to class, but I got nothing out of attending it. The only Spanish I learned was learned through last-minute cram sessions with friends. She's an easy grader though. Most of the mistakes on my tests, she simply put a smiley face beside.

Paprocki is at times fast paced, and she expects you to do a lot of out of class studying. Other than that, the class is good and the tests aren't that bad.

This being a conversation course, there are no tests, only two oral presentations. The first pres. is very informal and short; the second is about 10-15 minutes total, with a visual presentation included. Dr. Paprocki is good at making everyone, no matter what their fluency level, feel comfortable speaking in the group. She gently corrects students and is extremely helpful in and outside of class. Advice: get a partner to practice speaking with outside of class.
