I took this class online. Professor Winters tried to scare away students at first. THIS IS NOT A HARD CLASS. If you have a strong work ethic and can keep up with an online class you will be fine. She requires assignments every few days which is actually a good thing. There are quizzes over the textbook for the first few weeks, but they aren't timed and are easy points. She grades very fair. Follow the rubric that she provides and you will be fine. There are 4 papers, and the last is the big research paper (which really isn't bad). You write about a topic that pertains to your future career which keeps you interested in what you are researching. I highly recommend Professor Winters and taking this course online. She is very helpful and provides great, immediate feedback. Trust me, I emailed her every few days asking questions. Complete all the discussion boards and assignments and you'll get at least a B.

I didnt like this teacher, she was sarcastic too much and she is now the director of esl (English as a Second Language). She is also a grad student so she is only a part time professor. We had no tests, but quite a few papers to write. She is a stickler about page number requirement and she seems to pick favorites within the class. I didnt like her teaching style so I wouldn't recommend her, a few people in the class did like her though so its more of a 50/50. The final was a 10 page paper about any food topic.

I took this course online and it was TERRIBLE. Dr. Winters talked a big game in her syllabus about how she will gives us constant feedback on our writing and meet with us, but those things never happen. As a matter of fact, I have yet to get any feedback on my writing. I felt very clueless in this course. Plus, she never grades anything. I have assignments from OCTOBER still not graded. I have a bonus assignment still not graded. What was unfair is that we students had about 10-12 essays to write, yet she never graded them on time. Plus, we had to complete a 10-12 page essay paper for our final. Dr. Winters went weeks with no emails or blackboard posts and was HORRIBLE at responding to emails. Overall, this course was the worst online class I have ever taken. Maybe in person Dr. Winters is better, but online she is terrible.

Highly recommend her!! very easy.. not a lot of papers to write, unlike most eng 100 teachers that i've heard about. there's no reason to get a bad grade in the class. She's very laid back, young, cool, and not bad-looking. would definitely take another class with her!

An amazing teacher who truley made me love english. My class was on MWF and we didnt have class on friday. We just had to post a response on blackboard. SHE IS AMAZING.

If you dont clep out of english 100 you NEED to choose Professor Winters. She challenges students, but also realizes limits when it comes to writing. it is difficult, but if you give half a crap about school you will make an A. By far the best professor I have had.
