If you have no interest in math but have to take calculus... take benko. He is a very smart man. His accent is a barrier at first but he writes out every step to each problem in class and will also help outside of class as well. There is homework but you get points for it. He usually picks one, sometimes two problems and grades them with a 5 point potential. Do the homework b/c it adds up in the end. The quizzes are almost identical to homework but range from 1-4 problems and worth 10 points. The tests and the final are only 10 problems which can be good or bad. He allows a 2"x3" cheat sheet (which saved may ass) but NO GRAPHING CALCULATORS for those of us who know how to fully utilize them. He knows that trick. But he is a cool guy and a great teacher. Take him if you get the chance.

Benko is an excellent teacher that really cares about his students. He does all that he can to help you and won't move on in class if there are any questions over the material. I would recommend Benko to anyone taking a math class. I am going to take all the classes taught by him that I can in the future.

This classed SUCKED (at least for me)! It was my first calculus class and i pretty much struggled from the get go. If you've already taken calc though and did well in it then you should be ok. He makes a review list for each of his tests that makes 'em a lot easier. So if you've had calc before and did well then go ahead and take him, but if you haven't do not take him.

This class is not hard but it does require some studying. If you study the review and go to class you will get an A. He averages test scores, homework, quizzes, and the final together. All averages and scores have the same weight. It is important to do homework and show up. The review problems he gives are almost exactly whats on the tests and they are straight out of the book. If you study the review and go to class you should be fine.

all i have to say is BENKO ROCKS!!! His notes consist of working out examples with you in class and then giving homework every night. There is a quiz every tuesday but its just one problem and it normally comes from your notes. The chapter tests are easy because he gives you a study guide and actually follows it for the test. I reccommend taking Dr. Benko for any math class!
