It's obvious this professor loves this subject as her enthusiasm is contagious! She tells you the first day that the course is all consuming and she's being honest. If you want a class that will prepare you for health care programs, take her! She even takes the class at the end of the semester to Frankfort to view a human autopsy.

This teacher has no sympathy or care for her students. She is not helpful and makes you feel ignorant when you ask questions. She assumes the class knows the material, and does not adequately teach. She makes you print off so many worksheets and the way she teaches is makes you fill in the blanks. You hardly have time to write anything down. She states what is written on the paper but does not explain the material very well. She is not a helpful teacher. I dropped the class after my third test, I could not handle being in there anymore. It ruined my love for anatomy.

Mrs.Tinius is a good instructor, she gives you all the info you need and course outlines with objectives. The test are very difficult to study for and there is so much information unless your very dedicated and have the desire to do well you wont. I studied my notes inside and out and knew everything there was to know and was very confident, but the test was set up totally different, it isn't just about knowing your notes, its also about being able to understand them in depth and know the actual structures and fuctions in depth further than what she is teaching. The course I feel is hard and requires much of your time. If you do not have the time to spend then you will fail. DO NOT TAKE UNLESS YOU HAVE TO.

Mrs. Emberton-Tinius is an amazing instructor! I took this class online, she lays everything you need out on Blackboard.
It is important that you are organized to do well in this class because the content covers the entire body. The Lab was also online, you purchase a kit and all the labs are done at home and they are completely hands-on! It was really neat to learn from dissecting a pig, even my daughter who was in grade school learned from watching me do the Labs. In the lecture part there are system outlines/powerpoints that go with every video. There is also a portfolio engagement assignment that encourages you to interact with the community which was awesome, the 3 parts to the portfolio were hands-on and a lot of fun. There were 5 exams and a final, she gives you about a week to take each exam at the DELO center, which was very convenient. I recommend this instructor but only if you are self-motivated and want to learn anatomy and physiology!

When I had Dr. Tinius, I felt very neglected as well as all of my other classmates. I had her online, so having access to email is imperative, but I could never get a response from her either until it was too late, or none at all. She was a horrible teacher, do not take her if you want to do good in this class. I would have gotten a MUCH higher score if she had actually cared. One week, I was emailing her everyday about something very important and then I received an email from her assistant stating she was out of town and away from her computer. It was AWFUL! Don't take her if you want a passing grade!

I do not recommend taking this as a web class with this teacher. You are required to purchase a 3-ring-3" binder...and trust me you will fill it full of work and labs. You are also required to participate in three Civic Engagements and write papers and do power-points on all three. Not sure where this falls in to the Biology Category! The lab has to be purchased online and is very expensive (about $250). Plus the cost of books and tuition. This instrutor also requires massive amounts of printed work which most has to be printed in color. I spent nearly $200 on ink!! ALL tests are proctored, and are extremely difficult. The likelihood of passing any of them is slim to none! Quizzes due on Mon. Wed. and Fri by 9:00 p.m. Lab work done every Tues., and Thurs. Nose to the grind the entire semester. Taught like a 400 level class..not a 100 level class!! Should be taught to pre-med students only!! I DO NOT recommend this class!

This teacher sucks... her idea of teaching is reading the packet that she has you print out and bring to class... when she is going over the information it almost seems as if she doesn't know what she is talking about... homework is all the time and she doesn't give you enough time to learn material before starting new material. Her style of teaching is very poor.. Do not take this teacher.

This is a very hard and time consuming course. Mrs. TInius did a good job explaining the things that we needed to know. I would take her again. You just have to be dedicated and know that you most likely will be spending all your extra time with this class. There is a lot of material and its takes study time, but if you know this going in you shouldn't have a problem.

Mrs. Tinius is an awesome professor. She knows she is teaching a difficult subject in only 4 months and she does a great job. Her method of teaching is very organized and the binder she requires for you to keep is essential. The text was used however the Lab mannual was not. There is a test usually every week and this provides a lot of grades; which I like. The Labs were hands on and very detailed. She also gives her students an opportunity to teach some of what we have learned as part of extra credit. I highly reccomend this instructor for this hard subject. I learned so much from her, if I could, I would take another class taught by her!

I took the class in the summer and it was absolutely the hardest thing i have ever had to do! The course was seven weeks long and i had to devote all my time to that class for those seven weeks. Mrs. Emberton-Tinius was a good teacher and i learned a lot during the course. If you miss less than three days in her class she adds an extra 4 points to your final grade! She gives you the opportunity to attend an autopsy in Frankfort, GO! The only downfall about the teacher is i think she seemed kinda unapproachable.

Ok, so this class is about as hard as it gets, but it would be hard with or without this teacher. The tests are hard as hell, but so is the material. I feel that some of the questions were drawn out of hat or something because they seemed to come from out in left field somewhere. That's about the only problem I had with this course. The semester ends next week and I will most likely have a high B or low A. I recommend her if you need this class for your major. Just make sure you study like there is no tommorrow.

I really love Mrs. Emberton-Tinius as a teacher, shes a lot of fun and always tried her best to help us! The class is absolutely the hardest class ever and you have to have a lot of time to devote to it! I recommend taking it be itself or with easy classes! Her tests are all on blackboard adn are very hard, so study, study, study! If i had to take it with anyone i would recommend taking it with her!

She is really nice and very very helpful, if you bother getting help. On 1 quiz I did terrible on I went to her office and asked for help. She explained it to me, then let me retake the quiz. I failed again and she explained it a third time. I took the quiz a 3rd time, and thats the grade she gave me. A&P is a hard class, thats all there ito it. A lot to learn in a little time. But I loved this teacher. She was not easy, by any means, but she was nice, helpful, funny and if you really really work...you can get a B. A? I wouldn't stretch it if you have a life outside of Biology.

The information in the class isn't hard, but she made it hard. She didn't explain things clearly. When I or other people asked a question, she made us feel stupid, like we were supposed to know it. I wouldn't recommend taking this class with her.

Ms. Tinius is an excellent teacher. She supplies all the class notes and tests are over material covered in these notes only. She is willing to help outside of class with difficult information and makes learning fun.

doesn't seem like she knows what she's talking about half the time. it is an easy class as long as you are there to take notes and you read your material, but she makes it more complex and confusing by not knowing what she's doing.
