Great professor and makes the class funny and interesting. Never any homework but sometimes pulls stuff from the book onto the test that he doesn't discuss in class. If you skim the book, you'll be fine. Loved this class.

Class is not hard. Review each chapter that he assigns for the test he does pull questions from the book. All notes are done in class and not posted to Blackboard. A buddy of mine and myself alternated days we went and gathered the notes. If there is a guest speaker for the Business College he gives bonus points for attendance.

Craig Martin does not care about his students, he simply cares about getting his paycheck at the end of the week. You have five multiple choice tests in the class, all of which are effing impossible. Literally, I have a notebook full of definitions and examples that he rattles off for an hour and a half but it doesn't matter. He simply makes up his own scenarios and you have to pick through them to try and find the answer. And trust me, you won't. He is rude and offers zero type of extra credit, or even other assignments to help boost your grade if you're a bad test taker. Seriously, don't take him. He's a prick.

Hands down worst professor I have had at Western. This man has no idea how to construct a test based upon the material he has taught. You learn a lot of material in his class and he is entertaining, but his tests are always unrelated and have multiple correct answers. There is not even a "best" answer out of the ones he gives you because there is not enough given information. I'm on a full scholarship at Western and have straight A's, I will now be re-taking Marketing because of this teacher. You have been warned.

Craig Martin is basically the man. I had an 8 a.m. with him and I didn't skip the class once. He's energetic, funny and interacts with all the students really well. You take notes everyday but it's really not that bad. I went into the class not caring about marketing at all and he made it interesting and I learned lots of cool things. He is a great teacher TAKE HIM.

The course itself isn't difficult, however I wouldn't recommend Martin. He has no empathy and can be a complete dickhead. If you want to succeed in this course, be prepared to kiss some ass! :)

Dr. Martin is a good guy, he makes the class interesting and doesn't take attendance. There are 5 tests and 5 group assignments to complete in class. The tests are pretty tough actually. You definitely need to read the chapters and probably take notes. If you do that they aren't terrible though.

Dr. Martin is a very skilled teacher. His presentations are very well thought out and prepared in advance. His exams cover his notes in addition to a few topics from the textbook. You definitely need to attend class. It isn't impossible to make a good grade without perfect attendance but going to class definitely made the exam easier. Also, taking time to read the chapters was very helpful.
He does not have an attendance policy. However, he does have 5 in class assignments that must be completed in class and cannot be made up.
He is very fair in grading. I enjoyed his class. He has a very dynamic way of presenting the material and generating class discussion. I had the 8 am class but it was great.
Wonderfully skilled teacher.

Dr. martin is a wonderful teacher. He knows marketing can be boring and trys to spruce it up as much as he can. You go to class and take notes, on the days you dont take notes your group does little case studies worth 25 points. The final isn't cumulative just over the last three chapters. Go to class, take notes, and you'll do fine. I also recommend taking the quizzes on the online site from the book, he uses a few questions from it word for word. Highly recommend!

Those who gave Dr Martin poor evaluations, it is because they are stupid. This is one of the easiest classes you will ever take period! You will actually learn something in here and he is a pretty cool guy, very enthusiastic. I am not a marketing major and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

This professor is not someone to take for a 200 level class. I had this online and he was not helpful. I wrote pages and pages of notes. When it came time for the tests the notes did not matter. The tests were super hard and some of the questions had more than one answer, but only one answer is the "correct" answer. I would highly recommend taking someone else for this class.

I've made my decision of choosing Dr.Martin based on the evaluations on this site. Well, I hate to say it but, this is the worst ever class that I've taken in my 3 years at WKU. Dr. Martin "Seems" >get it?< like a nice guy. He makes jokes, you watch couple of videos, he tells you that attendance is not mandatory, and then when it comes to the TEST time he slams all the crap in your face. Dr.Martin REALLY wants you to understand the concept of marketing. He gives you the definitions but "YOU" need to apply them. In order to make C or above you "Have" to "Read" "EACH" "Chapter" in the BOOK. I strongly advise you to buy the book and read each chapter. Because trust me, he might seem like easy going guy, but DO NOT underestimate this guy. When the test comes you'll be Crushed.!!! Take Allen Hall (I've heard he's good from many ppl) Also, I don't understand how Dr.Martin has so many positive ratings on here, when I've heard other student complaining about him....hmmmm Good luck

OK, so I chose this guy based on profeval rating. Dr.Martin seems like a fun guy, but his Tests are much different from what he talks in the classroom. If you want to have a good grade in this class you must either A. Understand Marketing well, or B. Read each chapter from the book, attend the class, and take the online book quizzes. ~Martin wants you to fully understand the Marketing concept of whatever the heck he is trying to explain. Now he doesn't tell you that until its test time!!! ~I took notes; I took the online quizzes and still barely passed his tests. Also, he is not very approachable so, good luck getting help from him!!!

Dr. Martin is one of the best professors I've had at Western! He is awesome and very approachable. He makes class fun and interesting so you want to go every day. Yes, you take a decent amount of notes, but they're all on powerpoint and you get to interact alot. 5 multiple choice tests and 5 group assignments that aren't hard. He gave us our final on the last day of class instead of during finals week and it was just a regular test. You can get by without the book, but if you want to make an A, you should probably get it and skim the bold words in the chapters. I learned alot and had fun in class. Take him, he won't let you down.

This class I would recommend but gosh bless I hate note taking classes and in this class you will take a lot of notes. I did not devote hardly any time to this class though. I showed up, listened, and tried to take good notes. Most of the time I studied the day of the test because I am bad with procrastination and I would not allow myself much study time that day of the test. On the final I had to get an 80 to keep a B in the class so I studied the day before and put forth more time and got a 98 which kinda made me angry cause I realized if I had devoted more time I could have easily made an A in the class but oh well im lazy.
I would recommend showing up everyday and taking notes. On studying for the test I recommend the prenhall website test questions KNOW ALL OF THEM he will say he doesnt pull questions from there but ironically a lot of them will match the ones on the test the practice exams.
I also recommend of coarse studying your notes do those things and you will get in A

So the man is crazy!! I have a learning disability; he didn't give a flying fart!!!! He made my semester living hell. I didn't quit understand it. He chooses to do some of my accommodation and others he did not. Every effort to do well in his class was met with resistance!! The man has a power trip going on. I should have made an A in this class. I knew the material... it is just that the professor wouldn't let me play on the same field as all the other students!!
Entry-level class, yes take him. (I made a B in Intro. Marketing) In your major...run!!!!

Dr. Martin is a fun teacher. He keeps it interesting. I had it as a summer class at 8AM and he kept my attention the whole time.It is also a very interesting and easy to understand course. Most of it was common sense. There's no need for the book. He may say you need it but you don't All test material comes from class notes so just make sure you go to class. If you need this class or just need an extra class take Dr. Martin. He's fabulous.

This class is easy. I am got a high C because I did not apply my self. Test come from the notes and then 2 or 3 from the book. There are 8 group assagments. If you do good on those you will be fine. Extra credit is given only if something pops up like do a survey for somebody who is doing research. You will not need the book.

Dr. Martin is an excellent professor--one of the best in the department. One or two days of the week you will have group assignments to do in class so make sure you come every day just in case he gives them that day. There is also a shadowing project--not too hard though. He's young so he really relates well to students. This is a fun and interesting class! (and I'm not even really into sales all that much)

Dr Martin rocks!! He's probably the second best professor I've had at WKU. He definitely knows what hes talking about and he does make the class fun to learn. The material you learn in there is basically common sense. Just take down notes from all the stuff he talks about in class and if you study them, you're assured nothing less than a B.
