This class isn't bad if you are looking for an easy class (and who isn't when they are thinking of University experience?). However, Ms. Jones isn't the best teacher. She is really nice and friendly. She is in the air force and likes to talk about that a lot. But she also likes to talk about her personal life quite a bit, too. She even cancelled class on Halloween so she could go party, basically. She comes in, reads straight out of the book what you need to know for the quizzes, seems very uninterested and then tells you to leave. Much of the class is discussion on the topics in the book. There are 3 quizzes, and also 4 papers (1-2 pages) you have to turn in. She is very lenient on when you turn these in -- in fact, the last day of classes she basically said forget about the 4th paper (which sucks for those of us who did it and turned it in on time). But these papers require you to attend certain events throughout the year -- one theatre/music/art event, one University Experience sponsored event like the freshman assembly, one cultural event like going to the German Club or something, and one of your choice. If you have perfect attendance or a high A, you can opt not to take the final, which is a quiz over the movie Crash.

Overall, if you're a slacker, you will do really well in this class. She seems to cater more toward this type. However, if you do your work and actually turn things in on time, you'll find yourself getting stressed out and hassled because no one else does anything and she therefore punishes you, too. It's not a bad class, it's just not a good one, either.

Christy Jones is an awesome professor! Her UC 175 class was very easy going. She is laid back, and very conciderate. Her class is easy as long as you complete your assignments. Her final was nothing...we went to class and talked about what we liked and didn't like about the way she ran class and that was our final. If you have perfect attendence, you don't have to take a final, you don't have to show up to class on the last day!
