Dr. Bierwirth is a really nice guy, but you really have to pay attention to do good in his class. He lectures with powerpoints, but you really need to be in class to get the full understanding. He doesn't post the content of his lectures on Blackboard, so you either need to attend class, or be able to teach yourself very well. I didn't attend the class too often, thus I received a C. But that was my own fault. He is a great teacher, but you really just need to pay attention. He has 4 exams, and 4 papers, but you only have to do 3 papers. The 4th one is all extra credit.

All he does is lectures without a powerpoint for the entire 80 minutes. He jumps from one thing to another making it hard to see the significance. His test have only 5 multiple choice questions and the rest is all essay type questions. He grades them extremely harshly. He expects you to answer things that aren't even a part of the question he asked which is completely ridiculous. It's almost impossible to get anything above an 80 on anything you do in his class.
