For anyone interested in Children's Theatre, this class is a must-have. Carol obviously really cared about the subject, and the majority of the coursework was very hands-on. (The final was directing a scene from a children's theatre play and appearing in two others, and we went to two schools and worked with kids throughout the semester.)
There is a LOT of material to cover in this class, and it all got a little insane towards the end of the semester. There aren't tests, and the reading and writing are light - 10 children's plays and written reviews of each, and a final proposal - but there is simply SO MUCH going on in the class that it ends up deserving every bit of that upper-level status.
Students who have confidence in their directing skills and set aside plenty of time outside of class to complete their group work will do best here.

Only take this course if you are serious about theatre. There will be tons of information given so that means pages and pages of notes. Shes a very nice teacher its just a difficult class.

This course is 100 level, but very much seemed like a 300 level class. She isn't a bad teacher, but gave an overkill of notes, with each quiz having just 10 questions, and being worth a 100 points.
