Dr. Langdon is a decent professor and is considered to be the one of best. She leads good discussions on the topics she assigns. However, she doesn't have an open mind in her discussions, she seems to be very attuned to her own opinions. When a fellow student brought up her views on a topic the student's ideas where dismissed and not examined. Dr. Langdon will give you chances to redeem yourself, if a mistake is made on a paper, around the end of the semester. A lot of reading is done then you must give your opinions with proof from those readings in at least 300 words. The creative side of writing isn't examined very long in her class. I don't recommend this class if you want a smooth semester, actually I don't recommend any of her classes because she teaches them all similarly, but any of her classes would be good to take at some point.

The class was not too difficult and it helped to improve my writing skills. The only negative behind the class is that the papers are graded pretty closely. However, Dr. Langdon does give you the chance to revise if needed.

Dr. Langdon is nice person and is extremely knowledgable in her field. I am an English major with a 4.0 at WKU and was really looking forward to this class. However, it was by far the most difficult and frustrating course I have taken. There is a tremendous amount of reading, the texts she chooses are very scholarly in nature, and she has incredibly high expectations. She grades hard and her instructions, while lengthy, are so lofty that you are confused about what exactly she wants you to submit. Expect LOTS of advanced writing and for your entire semester to be consumed by this course.
