I had very little time to commit to this class. If I had more time to work on it, I could have easily gotten a high A so don't let my grade sway you away from taking this class online. Mr. Blakeman is very helpful and extremely understanding. The online software malfunctioned at the end of the semester and deleted many things from the course. Attendance verification of a concert was one of the things deleted. He allowed me to turn in proof after the semester had already ended so it wouldn't hurt my grade. He is really nice, definitely take him if you can!

I took this class as a night class and it was one of the best decisions I have ever made. Mr. Blakeman is a very good teacher and really enjoys what he does. The class is really easy if pay attention in class and take notes. There was one quiz every week and they were mostly worth ten points each with two points of extra credit on every quiz. Needless to say, there was TONS of Extra Credit opportunities. The mid-term and final were not too hard and you also had a concert report which he allowed you to redo after he graded it the first time. If you need an easy GEN Ed. take him. It is well worth your time.

It's impossible not to get an A in this class. There is plenty of extra credit offered and there is an opportunity to rewrite the essay you have to write (which is a concert report). Mr. Blakeman is very nice and funny. He is willing to work with students if need be as far as making up a quiz if it damages your grade. This was a once-a-week night class for me and while we did initially have to purchase the textbook, the notes provided in class made the textbook unnecessary. Easy A.

Mr. Blakeman is a really good teacher. You have quizzes everyday but there only 5 questions and there over the notes you took the day before. Its so easy don't let that scare you away. You can study your notes 10 min before class and you will be good to go. He writes all the note on the bored so you no exactly what to study. The quizzes are your study guides for the midterm and final. The questions come directy from the quizzes. you have to go to one recitle and write a paper on it but its easy. Hes really nice and a good teacher

Really easy class. Just take notes and read over them before the quiz each day and you'll do fine. I made an A in the class no problem and took the mid-term and final in about 15 min. tops.

This class was so easy, but boring. We had a 5 question quiz everyday, but they are very easy (just over the notes from the day before). There is only 2 tests, the midterm and final, but they are the exact questions from the quizzes. If you have to take this class, I recommend Blakeman.

Mr Blakeman is the man. He doesn't make his quizzes at the beginning of class tricky at all. He knows we arent music majors, and doesnt bore us to death. The two test you will take will come right from the daily quizzes. I made a 99% on the midterm and an a on the final. If you go to class, it is nearly impossible not to achieve an A in this course. Highly Recommended!!!

Mr. Blakeman is great. The class is very easy, and he doesn't aim to make it hard at all. The notes are about a page a day. You see that he really cares about the material, even if the students don't. Do not buy the book or the CD's unless you will miss alot of class. There is a 10 pt quiz every class period, but it is easy if you look over the material before class starts and there is an extra credit question on every quiz. Midterm and final are just like the quizzes, only about 35 fill in the blank (one word) answers and then a listening component, on which he thoroughly prepares you, there are no surprises. VERY EASY gen ed. Take him, he's a nice guy.

TAKE THIS COURSE WITH PROF. BLAKEMAN. He is so corny and yet so awesome. He cracks you up by singing or humming to songs that you will be studying. DO NOT BUY THE BOOK!!!! You will have daily, 10 pt. quizzes in this class but they are a piece of cake and you get an Xtra-credit Q. on each one as well. You'll only have 2 big exams... the midterm (easy if you study a little)... and the final. There are no assignments. Mr. Blakeman is the shiznizz!

Mr. Blakeman is quite an interesting fellow. He tends to whistle and hum like a bird, but this is just one of his silly quirks...quite enjoyable really. Whatever you do, don't buy the textbook or the CDS. You will listen to the music in class, and we never opened the book once, but be sure to attend! His class was extremely easy and if you are given the opportunity to take it, do it!

Blakeman is a cool guy. He makes music history and composition (especially if you are not a music major) easy to understand. He's kinda clumsy and tends to trip over things or misspell words, but he laughs at himself and has a good time while he teaches. He gives a short quiz everyday over the previous material covered during the last class. His tests are E-A-S-Y. There is no way to fail this class, unless you go once every 3 weeks or so. You'll be sorry if you don't take him.

Mr. Blakeman was cool and I encourage anyone that needs an easy A to take him for Music Apprecation. He goes over everything that will be on the quizzes and the test the class period before so you will be just dumb if you don't pass; however, don't take this class 8am if you don't plan on being there because there is a quiz at the beginning of every class period and if you miss enough you can fail, but he is real funny and down to earth guy and you will definately enjoy this course.

This class was very easy and he made the material easy to learn. Each class period consisted of a quiz and note taking. He dropped your 2 lowest quiz grades and you only have a mid-term and a final. Both were fill in the blank but he reviews you well for each. The quizes are very easy, he tells you at the end of each class period what will be on the next quiz. Very easy class and recommend it to anyone.

Extra credit is writing a one page paper about a musical performance for 10 points, and you can only write one. Quizes are given at the start of every class 5 questions worth 10 points w/a bonus question for 1 point, and you can only drop two quizzes. The test comes straight from the quizzes, so save them. The listening section of the test is fairly easy as he lets you prepare the day before the test. There is a mid-term and final. DO NOT BUY THE BOOK OR CDS.

Mr. Blakeman is an excellent teacher of music. He gives plenty of opportunity for extra credit. There is a short quiz at the first of each class but only 6 questions directly from you notes. I would recommend this class to anyone!!!
