Terrible Teacher, Way to old and boring. Teaches right out of the textbook and grades your speech more on weather you follow her rules than if it was actually well written and presented. Take anyone else!

Mrs. Allisons class is easy if you like to kiss up to her. She picks favorites the first day and babies them the entire semester. She counts off 15 points from your final grade every time you are absent after one. The class is pointless unless you are giving speeches. All of the info comes from the power points she reads from. She says the book is mandatory but she never uses it. It's a waste of money!

This is the worst teacher I have ever had. I would not wish her on my worst enemy. She does not give any feedback to her students. I hope she is fired.

She's a great teacher. I love her as a teacher and reminds me of my grandma thats how sweet she is. Her tests are too terribly hard and she gives out very helpful study guides to use. Speeches aren't too terribly bad and she is very lenient on grading and gives usually really good grades out. I recommend taking this teacher because she is very helpful and a great teacher.

The attendance policy is ridiculous. Only 1 absence then a note is required. For every unexcused absence your final grade is dropped 10 points.

Professor Allison is awesome!! She's so sweet and tries to make you interact with your classmates!! The only thing is its hard to get excused because my class was only on Mondays and Wednesdays which meant less time to cover the material. But its such a fun class and I really enjoyed it!!!!

Business and professional speaking is a relatively easy class. It has the possibility to be a very interesting and enjoyable class, but Ms. Allison murders this idea. She teaches from PowerPoints she has created straight from the book; often quoting the book without reading it. She is extremely boring and dull. You have to give an informative speech and a persuasive speech about anything business related; which is basically anything you want to talk about. One of the most heavily weighted grades is the group presentation, which is a joke. If you are nervous about speaking in front of people, she doesn’t do anything to help you with this. You give a speech, she grades you on it and that’s it. I’ve heard my ten year old sister give a better speech that some of the people in this class who she says are great public speakers. Basically, she’s an uninspiring, old professor set in her ways. If you go to class everyday and never miss then you should be fine, but don’t expect to be motivated in any way.

Professor Allison is wonderful! She makes communications fun without making it to hard. You do have speeches, but she downplays them and tries to make everyone as comfortable and she possibly can. She is always willing to help you if you just ask. I have learned alot from her! I would deff. take the class with her!

Allison's class is not hard, but she can be a pain. She is strict on attendance, so if you have her at 8 oclock, beware of sleeping in. If you read her evaluations, people either like her or can't stand her. This is because she will pick and choose her favorites in the first week. After those students are selected, it's almost as if the two groups are in a completely different class. When it comes time for your presentations, she WILL grade easier for her favorites and mark points off for others. Regardless, this class is very easy to pass if you just show up. Take it from someone who doesn't like her, you'll be just fine!

Great teacher, and I am assuming she is one of the easiest. Personally public speaking was a class I really dreaded since I began college, but Mrs. Allison made the course a piece of cake. Her class is designed for a very easy A. She offers a lot of extra credit and makes you feel comfortable when speaking. Definitley take Allison.

Has to be the worst teacher I have ever had throughout my education. She is an attendance lunatic and very choosy over which students she prefers. So beware she does have favorites! Tests were filled with crap you dont learn in the lectures, she takes the class way too serious,if you miss more than 1 day you will probably fail according to her, so beware,i wouldnt take allison, not even if its your final resort, wait until another teacher is open.

Very fair to all students. Also nice but usually will not put up with any nonsense. Three major presentations with a few minor ones. Just make sure you do exactly what she wants and you will be fine. Throws in a couple of pop quizzes but they are only worth about 10 points. Note about the final: With our class, anyone who had an A before the final was exempt from taking it. Overall, good teacher.

Like most people, I have a moderate fear of public speaking, so I was pretty much dreading this class going in. Seeing the syllabus didn't help much either since it was packed with stuff. But, after a full semester, I can say with confidence this was one of the easiest classes I've had so far at WKU, and it without a doubt helped calm my fear of public speaking. Mrs. Allison is such a great professor! She is really sweet and genuinely cares about her students. There are a ton of easy assignments that really help boost your grade, and she gives out a very detailed study guide before every test that makes those a breeze, as well. The presentations are the biggest chunk of your grade in the class, but she grades very easy. Turn in a complete outline, dress appropriately, get in the time range, and you'll get an A for sure. I loved this class, and would advise everyone to take Mrs. Allison. VERY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Attendance is a must. Don't take her if you like to skip class. It's hard to take notes in her class because she goes so fast. I would recommend bringing a highlighter to highlight the points in the book. She grades really easy on the speeches but I found the exams to be difficult. I would definitely do the 25 points extra credit she gives because it will really help you out!

Prof. Allison is really nice and a totally easy teacher. She was easier than my teachers in high school! She is willing to help anyone and teaches directly off of the powerpoints that come with your textbook. She is a very easy grader, and other than the speeches, you don't have much out of class work. Attendance is required, and since I had an 8am class, it was tough getting there.

Dr. Allison is a very easy going teacher and sweet woman. She doesn't load you with a bunch of notes or homework assignments. You are required to do 3 presentations and 1 of the 3 is a group presentations. They are very easy to present and create but I would suggest beginning at least a couple days before your presentation is due because you cannot do it all in one night.

Just listen when she talks about something in the book because it will be on your test! This class was my favorite all semester, and I hate public speaking!

Gayle Allison is a classy, competent, experienced instructor. She takes great pride in herself personally, and also in her teaching. The class is relatively simple; afterall, most people give their first speeches in this course. There is preparation required for the speeches should you want a decent grade, but it seemed to come naturally for me. The grading is pretty lenient, as well. Take this instructor--she is very effective.

Professor Allison was one of my favorite professors. She is a very helpful and understanding lady. The only extra credit available came as 25 bonus points on the final. If you use the CD that comes with the book, the tests are rather easy. She doesn't grade speeches that tough, but gives you good feedback on mistakes. The lectures are somewhat boring, just make note of bold words in the book. I learned alot in this class. Good class!

I would have made an A in this class if she had bothered to give me a sylibis when I registered late (I asked for one that she never provided.) However, I failed because the class was so boring and easy I didn't come for over a month, and her rediculous attendance policy killed my grade. This class is so easy, anyone should be able to pass it, but Gayle is not prepared, and a boring speaker, so be ready to want to commit suicide every day you are there...

This class was pretty easy throughout the year. She grades very easy on the speeches that you have to give. She is very nice, everyday in this class I felt comfortable and we had fun while learning. She reminded me a lot of my grandma and this made me feel more comfortable when giving speeches. The only problems I had with this class was that the final was really hard and she was kind of clueless about things.
