Oh where to start. Let's see... this teacher (i'd rather not type her name, i do not have that much respect for her) has anger management problems, she's has gotten smart with students in class when it was uncalled for. She likes to treat her students as if they were kindergarteners.
I have always had difficulty with reading tests, every since i was little: i'm a slow reader, and as a result made a 15 on my ACT reading section. This teacher discouraged me and my fellow students from taking the accuplacer test that would exempt us from the class at the beginning of the term by saying that if you did poorly on your ACT Reading test that you would be "wasting your time" taking this test.
While sitting in this teachers' class i often wanted to beat my head against my desk or even the wall because of sheer boredom: i felt like i was "wasting" my time just being in that class. I did not learn anything new from this class and felt insulted not only by the redundany of the material covered but by the teachers' constant patronizing of me and my fellow students.
I HIGHLY, HIGHLY recommend taking the accuplacer test at the beginning of the term, hopefully it will help clarify whether you need this class or not.
By the way I made a 15 on my ACT reading, but I made a 100 percent on my midterm exam for this class.
Just another fact on why the ACT test is bullshit.
