Dr. Kesler definitely expects a lot from his students. There are not tests, only papers. He's tough on grammar and form, but if you go talk to him, he's a really nice guy. I got a C on my first paper, talked to him for 5 minutes about what I could do to improve my grade, did it, and got an A in the class. He makes you see a lot of shows, but if you're in the department, you should be seeing them anyway, so shame on you.
