Do not take this guy if you don't have to. He is the most boring professor I have ever had. All he does is talk from his powerpoints. If he posted his slides there would be no reason to come to class. His tests are not too difficult but the way he words the questions can be tricky and this is where you will have trouble. I really don't see him being a professor at WKU too much longer as he honestly doesn't really teach you anything about real HR management, as he tends to focus about 99% of his time on laws and lawsuits rather than how to be a successful HR manager.

I put that the text book isnt required, but it sort of is. you need it like twice, but its definitely not worth buying it, if you could share with someone, it would save you alot of money.
Dr. Sims, is a good guy, he's very easy going and will work with you. I dont think attendance is mandatory, but he keeps up with who's there and who's not,. At the end of the semester he will "bump" you up if you're on the border of having a higher grade, if your attendance is good. The test arent hard, just a little tricky. the material also isnt bad, more common sense than anything. He gives extra credit opportunities to complete during test times. Everyone has to complete an Oral Article Review, which is just a presentation that you give in front of the class over 1 chapter that Dr. Sims will assign. There's also a Written article Review, which is the same thing as the oral, but all you do is type up the paper over the one chapter topic and turn it in, no getting in front of the class for this one. overall: i recommend this teacher and this course, easy A.

Dr. Sims is quite possibly the most borring man on earth. Every day we come to class and watch him read to us his power point presentations. If attendence was not required, and he posted his power point presentations on blackboard, there would be NO reason to come to class! He is not a terrible guy; infact he is a nice man, but, if you want constant boredom and the longest 50 minutes of your life, take this class.

Dr. Sims was a horrible teacher. The class was horribly boring and he is so anal about everything. Does not require attendance, but is snippy and picky about explanations when you do need to miss.

This class was pretty easy, you only have three tests and he drops the lowest one, and the final was only 30 multiple choice questions, no essay. You have in-class case analysis which as long as your there you get the grade, these add up to 100 points. Sims' class was incredibly boring but also very easy. I would recommend him if you looking for an easy grade, but you do have to go to class.
