YOu have to work hard, I had him my first semester here and was failing right up to the end, but I went every class period and met with him, that helps alot!!!! There are alot of notes, but they help because you have a quiz once a week, but the textbook helps too. The text helps you to understand your notes a little better, but the tests are all essay which sucks, you have to REALLY know what you are talking about to get a good grade!
