This class was BULL. Albers is the worst teacher on the face of the earth, in fact, She is the worst teacher in the galaxy. (possibly the universe) This crazy biach made us do so much work for nothing. YOU DO NOT NEED ANY INFORMATION FROM THIS CLASS. Everything she said was pretty much a lie. She said there would be vocab quizzes every week in most of my classes, and guess what, I have been here for years now and have never taken a vocab quiz. This woman made us do community service, wtf, in a experience class. I don't think so.........DROP THIS CLASS.

This course was really easy but it is a total waste of time. You have more homework to do in this class than any of your othe ones The final isnt mandatory if you get enough points throughout the course, but attendance counts a lot and you're not going to feel like attending class. If you can get out of this class...then do it.

If this was the only class you take you may be able to do everything she ask of you. She is a very nice lady and knows what she is talking about, but the stress level and work load are not worth getting into. The class gets easier as you go on, but it is rough. The tests are extremely difficult and it is hard to know what to study. If you are an absolute workaholic then take this class, if not then I would find another teacher.

Albert's class is BS. CALLING ALL FRESHMAN AVOID THIS CLASS!! This class really is a waste of time. You take english quizzes, writing papers, community service, and you have to go to three cultural events. They even have the nerve to make you do a paper within a paper. You have to look up info, summary etc. Stay away from this class and take a class that will give you 3 hours instead of 2. Don't waste your time.. It's easy but time consuming.

I wouldnt really suggest taking this course. It is an easy A, in fact if you have enough points that come out to an A and do your work I dont think you have to take the final, because I didnt have to. It sucks to want to go to the class, so it will probably be one you want to skip. I got suckered into taking it and really wished I stayed out of it, though I made some good friends along the way. I guess if you are an incoming freshmen this would be a good thing to take, only because you make more friends this way, lol. You meet altogether on one day, then the next time you meet you meet in smaller groups with a peer instructor that's a student who's getting paid to help out since the BCOM group is usually the largest of the UC classes. Overall though, I would switch out or stay out of this useless class.

I do not recommend that anybody takes this class. It's a waste of time and money. You don't learn anything. I hardly did any of the hw and barely went to any classes. You dont have to take the final if you get a certain amt of points but i took the final and it was really really easy.

Once I learned how to study for this class I found it fairly easy. The notes she posts almost always include every answer on the quizzes. Also the final comes completely from old tests and quizzes, so there are really no surprises. Sometimes class is boring, but it was basically the subject matter that I didn't enjoy. Albers will work with you on anything you may not understand and cares about her students. COME TO CLASS! There's a 15 point bonus for coming every day. It was worth it to me; it was the difference between a B and an A.

This class was really a waste of my time. I had more homework in this class then most of my other ones. I really could not stand the weekly grammar quizes and not a single person did well on them. As long as you turn most everything in you will get an easy A. If this class is not required then save yourself and don't take it.

This class can be an easy A if you do the work. Turn in your paper on time, she won't make a big deal out of the paper, but it is. The class is not exciting, but it is bearable.

This is a class that is clear and straight forward. Don't bother with notes, just read along in the book. Everything is organized and fair, and she really cares about her students and their progress in her class. This class is work, but not that hard of work. Her test are extensive but she covers what will be on them and if the effort is put forth should not be too much of a challenge. GO TO CLASS, and keep in mind there is extra credit given.

There were way to many requirements for this class. If you do your assignments it is an easy A. It is just all of the goofy extra assignments that make it frustrating.

I personally think that this class was the biggest waste of my time... yes it is easy, but the Journalism and Broadcasting school said that this class was required, but they lied. It's not... so don't take her. She gives WAY too much homework, you have to take grammar tests, which is a waste of time and brings down your grade. You also have to attend class or she lower your grade. You also have a mentor for a group that you are in because the class is so large and I actually enjoyed my mentor, rather than Albers. You are required to attend 5 cultural events, which is a waste of time and join an organization and all kinds of useless crap. The class should have been a 6hr. course, not 2.... don't take this class.

This class is hard...but one of the most interesting and enjoyable classes that I have ever taken. Professor Albers is a wonderful teacher and a great person. She geniunely cares about her students and how they perform in her class. As long as you read the assigned readings, go to class, and do the work...you will pass.

Isn't freshman seminar supposed to help you with the transition into college? This class did the complete opposite. I felt like I was back in high school. The class itself is a joke. There is so much work to do in so little time. Plus, you MUST join some sort of organization or club (which I think is upsurd) and you must attend 5 "cultural events". Thank God for my student mentor, or I would have gone completely insane.

This class is annoying...If you're looking for an easy A, I would take it. It involves a lot of "busy work" and I felt like I was back in high school. You have a journal to write in EVERYDAY...and you have to submit it; you have questions from a book to type and turn in once a week; visits and tests about the libaries; book summary; and you have to sit once a week and just listen to lectures...no notes..just sit and listen...P.S. IT GETS VERY ANNOYING TO ATTEND CLASS...

As long as you do the reading you'll do FINE. She gives extra credit points a lot, and if you receive a certain number of points a semester you DO NOT have to take the final!
I actually came within 2 points of not having to take it....she actually gave me the points and told me to have a nice vacation. Awesome!

This class is easy as long as you do the work...but that's the problem! There is so much ridiculous work that you'll be pulling your hair out halfway through the semester! A lot of the requirments for the class are really stupid...be prepared!

There's a secret to Albers class. This class is supposed to be the "weed-out" course for the journalism department, and it is used as a Public Law/Government major elective. TAKE THIS COURSE. You will learn a lot of cool stuff. Now for the secret: DON'T TAKE ANY NOTES... NONE!! All you have to do is follow along in the book with a highlighter. She literally reads right from the book, and you will laugh when you see everyone's hands all around you cramping up trying to keep up with her fast paced jabbering. Other than that, her quizzes change from semester to semester, but you can openly talk during the quizzes and tests (not loudly), and she does not have different forms of quizzes or tests, so cheating is VERY easy. And remeber to show interest with the class from the first day, and you will make an A! Albers is one of the coolest teachers at WKU, especially when you haven't taken a single note but have an A in the class!

When going into her class, I had heard of several who had failed her class in the past and it frightened me. At the beginging, it's hard understanding what exactly to study, but as the class progresses, you learn. It ended up being one of my favorite classes and I don't like government. Don't miss class and study a lot and you'll do fine.

Dr. Albers is a great teacher. Many people told me this was a very hard course and I can see why. But if you work really hard, you can do it. There are daily quizzes and you can only get out of the final if you have a very high A. The class isn't very boring but it is hard.

A department head by nature, this naturally leads to a rather difficult course with the "Quiz first" approach. Be prepared to read extensively before each class meeting. Lots of work, but a good natured Professor.
