Dr. Shuffet gives a study guide before each test of exactly what is on the test. We had to write 2 papers, one over an interview with someone who had experienced WWII and one over a short story we read. She was very approachable and I loved this class. Definitely take her!

I loved Ms. Shuffett. She knows her subject very well and listening to her lecture is very interesting even if you don't like history. There were several Seniors in my class who told me she is excellent compared to some of the other profs who teach this course. There are a lot of notes to take, so missing class will hurt you. She gives them all to you on the board as well as handouts. We also watched some videos in class. We had a poster project to complete and an in-class book report to write (make sure you elaborate on your critiqueing of the book), as well as three exams. She gives you three essay questions to prepare for and tells you what she wants in them. You will be writing on two of the three (her choice--so prepare for all three). She takes her essay questions very seriously, so make sure you take notes on what she wants in them. There are also six short answer questions on the test of which you will pick four. The third essay question you prepared for will usually show up in this section, so it is not a wasted effort. Make sure you read the True/False questions twice as they can be a bit of a trick. She gives you a review sheet with terms you need to know about a week prior to the test. It is wise to start on them as soon as you get it as it is quite long! Overall, an excellent teacher and an excellent class. I'd take her again in a heartbeat.

Wendy gives excellent notes, in an outline format. She also gives a study guide before each exam with the essay questions on it. The final is just like a regular exam, covering only the last of the information you've learned. Although she doesn't offer extra credit if you attend class regularly she will help you if you are on the verge between grades.

Mrs. Shuffet gives great notes. There are alot of them, but for some reason it isn't boring. She is very thorough in the information and knows what she is talking about. Her tests are kinda hard, but she gives review sheets that tell you what to study. I didn't have the right book for this class and i got an A.

I liked this class a lot. She's really knowledgeable and friendly. She's moves fast and her notes take some getting used to, but once you get her the class is easy. I'd recommend reading over your notes and making flash cards with them for her test. Most of the stuff isn't too difficult since it's things we learned in High School; it's just a little more detailed. You don't need the book, I never read mine(except for the days I ditched). I'd recommend her to anyone who wants a good, fair teacher.

Mrs. Shuffett is an excellent teacher for this course. It is hard but if you go to class and take notes you will be ok. She puts everything you need to know for the test on the board. You do not need the book, even though she tells you to read it. I didn't open my book the whole semester. You have 3 tests, 1 book report in class, and a poster project. If you have to take this class, she is the teacher to take!
