First of all the cost of the textbook was WAY too much. She gives little time for quizes and tests. I felt rushed and didnt do well. She has four tests that are 3 hours long. You only have one chance to take a test. You can't stop and take a break becuase you may run out of time. These tests are very difficult. She said there would be no extra credit. After the final test, she posted 3 extra credit opportunities (a tell-tale sign that people were not doing well). The first one was another test. The second one you had to be female to particpate. The third, you had to be a food server.

Dr. Miner-Rubino is a wonderful person. I took this class as a web class. Therefore you did not have any notes but just because it was a web class DID NOT make it any easier. She always challenged you. You had to read the chapters because the quizzes and tests were timed. If you did not read the chapters there was no possible way you could get done in the length of time given. We had four quizzes and four tests. We also had a discussion board to do every week. During this discussion board she would ask you and your group members a question and you had to reply to it. Then you had to interact with your group members by commenting on the answers they gave to the question. Dr. Miner-Rubino is willing in anyway to help you if you have accommodations and even if you don't have them she is more than willing to help. I would recommend her to anyone but if you are wanting an easy class this is not one to take.

I took this class online..I would recommend taking it in the classroom! You would learn so much more! This class is interesting because it deals with how every person is. There are weekly quizzes over 2 chapters in the book..you need the book for this! and about every 3 or 4 weeks there is an exam over those weekly chapters. There is a posting on blackboard that is due weekly (out of 5 points)
Not to hard of a class, but with any online class..if you dont dedicate the time to it, it will bite you in the butt in the end.
The tests are online, they are timed...they focus a lot on the application and theories of what the book teaches. This class is still in progress so I am not sure yet of my grade, but ..overall this class is ALRIGHT..online

Dr. Miner-Rubino is by far the Psych 100 teacher to take! It's impossible for you not to get an A if you just pay attention to lectures and go to class. All notes are online. Extra Credit is offered throughout the semester and on every exam. Also, you get 10 extra credit points for having perfect attendence to class! Study Guides are also provided before every exam! You can drop your lowest exam in this class...or do well throughout the semester and you don't have to take the FINAL! How great is that!

She is a great professor. I enjoyed going to class because she makes it so interesting. The tests are rather difficult but if you study your notes, you will be fine. There are only 3 tests and one paper, she also offers a lot of extra credit.

She is awesome! She gives you notes (that she posts on blackboard) and if you just follow along you will be fine. She gives us 5 tests, but the fifth test is optional. You have to take four tests, so if you take all five, she will drop your lowest test score. My suggestion: take all five tests. For the fifth test it is 100 questions, each question is worth one point. She takes 25 questions from the four previous tests. But dont let that scare you, for the final she lets you (the week before the final) go to her graduate students office and look at the tests. Although you cannot write anything down you can memorize the answers. It really works. I went to the GS office everyday for a extended period of time and studied the tests. I took the final and it took me about 10 minutes to take the final. In case you were wondering I got an A on the final! Take her class, she is amazing, and take all five tests, and take her option of looking at the previous tests, it works!

I had never taken a psychology course so this class was a bit difficult for me but very interesting. Mrs. Miner-Rubino is a good teacher but don't ask her any questions, she doesn't know a lot about anything, her notes are easy cause you can just print them off. The final is not mandatory but you can take it to drop a low test grade. Test's aren't hard if you do the study guides. She's okay but just be ready to not get information out of her.

This class was overall pretty easy but the tests are somewhat difficult. Make sure you study. The tests are always all multiple choice and there is always extra credit on them as well. You need a clicker for this class and that is how she takes attendance...by you clicking in. Attendence isnt really mandatory but if you attend all classes then at the end of the semester you get 10 extra credit points. so its worth it. overall shes a great teacher but the only reason I got a C in this class is because I didnt do so well on the tests.

Miner-Rubino is awesome! She's really funny and made this my favorite class! She gives you the lecture slides and study guides! You take 5 tests and she drops your lowest grade! One option which I choose was to do good on all her tests and not take the final! Take her she really knows what she is talking about and is an awesome teacher!

Dr Miner-Rubino is an excellent teacher. She is very energetic and honest. She makes class fun and exciting by joking with us about things.
As a first time freshman this was the only class I looked forward to attending EVERYDAY...which was great because you recieve 10 extra credit points at the end of the semester if you attended all classes! I would highly recommend her class to anyone even if you hate psychology!

Professor Miner-Rubino is hilarious. she cracks me up, she definately kept my attention in class. she some of the weirdest, off the wall things sometimes. Her lectures are pretty interesting. For me her test were difficult, it seemed that she would give a study guide but the test was nothing like the study guide. Great teacher, but test are hard!

I really liked this teacher! Her notes are really easy to follow and understand. Her test are kind of hard but nothing really to stress over. She will give you a study guide that is pretty much the exact same thing as the test. She offers a ton of extra credit, so much that at the end of the semester I went up one letter grade because I participated in so much. I would recommend this teacher for an easy A!

Let me just start out by saying that my final grade was a 404/400 because she gives so many opportunities for extra-credit. The class isn't too hard and it's pretty much no fail if you show up on a pretty regular basis. I think I missed maybe four or five classes this semester and it obviously didn't hurt. She sometimes likes to take attendence if the class is looking espesially empty, but she usually doesn't and she never did it on a day when I wasn't there. Her lectures are really well structured and she uses powerpoint and videos. Pretty much it's a super class and I highly recommend it.

I would recommended Dr. Miner-Rubino to anyone. She is a great teacher and she knows her stuff. She gives alot of extra credit during class, on tests, and if you go to workshops. She also gives study guides for the tests and they are exactly like the test. If you do really good on the 4 tests during the semester, you don't have to take the final. She has very interesting letures and examples. Sometimes she can be very funny too. If you are going to take this class, I highly recommended Dr. Minor-Rubino.

Dr. Miner-Rubino clarifies many issues in psychology that have not been adaquately applied to women. Right off the bat she says, "This is not a class of Cosmo quizzes!" While psychologists have focused on biology as reasons for behavior, she points out how socially constructed aspects of the self can be as or more influential. Be prepared to change the way you think about psychology!

Dr. Miner-Rubino is a very nice teacher. She is somewhat hard to get used to at first but she is very willing to help her students. The tests are all multiple choice except for the extra credit and the questions come straight from the study guide. There are 5 tests, including the final and you can drop the lowest grade so you technically don't have to take the final. She moves pretty fast through her slides so it is suggested that you read the text but extra credit is always popping up. The only mandatory part is the graduate research participation that takes like 15 min and she gives 10 pts extra credit for perfect attendance which she rarely takes. This class was pretty interesting and easy as long as you put in the time!

this class was a lot of fun. the issue reports she gave for homework were a pain in the ass but other than that, it wasn't bad at all. i actually enjoyed going to her class. she has you watch short videos about once a week that are really entertaining. to make it short, she's an awesome teacher, cares about her students and makes class fun.

There are 4 issue reports (3-5 page papers where you compare/contrast two articles from one of the required texts) and 4 tests in this class. The tests are not easy, but if you go to class she will end up telling you what the essay question is. Reading the textbook isn't necessary (because she gives you slides from her lectures), but it will help you get a few extra questions right on the tests. Overall a good instructor and a good course.

Dr. Miner-Rubino has great lectures. Her powerpoints are interesting and her lectures are def. worthwhile. She occasionally takes attendance and if youre there all of those days she'll give you extra credit. There are 4 tests and a final but she drops your lowest grade, even if its the final. If you are happy with the first four grades, you dont even have to show up for the final. If youre not, go to her office hours the last 2 weeks of class, she'll let you look at the answer keys to the tests as long as you'd like. Every question on the final was on one of the other 4 tests. She offers 40 points of extra credit for research opportunities. Dr. Miner-Rubino is EXTREMELY easy to talk to. I got a 100 on the final after studying only a couple hours with her. She's awesome!!!

This class was not hard at all. I studied for the tests, but they are all multiple choice, and fairly easy. There were tons of bonus oppurtunities. This class had its interesting parts, but it could get pretty boring. She took attendance on random days and gave bonus if you were there each time. It's all lecture, no quizzes, 5 tests, including a final, and she drops the lowest test grade, even if its the final! :)

Mrs. Miner-Rubino is an awesome teacher. She is very interesting and on our level of things. She gives quite a bit of notes, but they are easy to follow. Her tests are all multiple choice except for the extra credit which is fill in blank or short answer. If you are there every day you get 10 extra points but she hardly checks attendance. Also, you can earn up to forty extra credit points by doing research studies, even two of them were in class. I did a study by myself and earned 5 bucks!!! She encourages you to come to office hours and she tells you exactly what will be on the tests. If you do good on the first four tests you don't even have to show up for the final. She is absolutely amazing!!!!

your grade is based on the added points of 4 tests ( either 3 exams and the final or 4 exams). Your lowest test grade is dropped and final in the same weight at the exams. there are quite a few notes but they are no totaly boring. 40 points extra credit will be added to your grade for participation in research studies and 10 points for attendance ( total of 50 points which is half a letter grade!) The test questions are situational and there are NO definitions. very interesting class. Do take!!!

She is a good teacher. But, she doesn't put up notes in blackboard and all her powerpoints are real fast. She never lets us copy down the notes and so you will need to read your textbook regularly and well.
