Dr. Payne is the best. Her class is difficult to a degree, but she is very willing to help you in every way. You will learn so much in her class. I strongly recommend taking Dr. Payne! I am a corp. comm major and she is by far my fav. teacher here at Western.

This class was way to difficult for a 100 level course. I had more homework and more to do in this class then my 400 levels. She is very nice and is good at explaning things but the course just covers to much material. I would definately not recommend as a summer course.

I took this as a May term course and I thought it was really easy. It was challenging because we had a large amount of work due in a small amount of time, but I thought the content of the course was not difficult to learn. Payne is a really sweet person and I felt like she tried to make the course as interesting as possible. This is one of my favorite classes I've taken.

This is one of, if not the best course I've taken in college. Dr. Payne is very personable and insightful, and allows lots of input from students towards in-class discussions. While fun, this course is more involved than one might expect with group projects and activities. Also, while her performance measures are fair, Dr. Payne is a difficult scorer. A's are certainly possible, but not handed out. Taking this class is definitly worth it; you'll learn relevant information applicable to your relationships in everyday life.

This class was tough for a 100 level, the coursework was probably more of a 300 level. Tests are all multiple choice, but are tricky. She does grade tougher than I thought necessary, but she also knows her stuff. Dr. Payne has alot to offer and I learned alot from her. She's easy to talk to, but also strict on things like attendance. She's willing to hear your side of the story if you have a problem you want to talk about. The group project is very important, so you have to put alot of effort into it. Overall, I really enjoyed the class because you can apply nearly everything you learn to your life.

For a 100 level course she expects 400 level work so you have to be prepared for that. The main group presentation is a large portion of the grade and those are graded very hard. Make sure it is perfect. There is some extra credit but not much.

She is really nice, shes young. You only have to give like two actual presentations not speeches and one business interview with a partner. They aren't that bad. The tests are easy.

Teacher is pretty cool. She dont cover material well and is kind of slow about getting to the speaches. She is good about helping you out of class. She grades pretty hard but weights her tests. Would reccommend if you want to work a little bit.

I really enjoyed Holly Payne. She gives real examples that are easy to grasp and applies theories in ways that make sense. I had taken Comm. Theory the semester before, but didn't understand exactly what the meant until I had Holly Payne. I think she's great! I'd take her again in a heartbeat! :)

She grades tough on the speeches you give, but if you do every little thing she tells you to your grade on them should be decent. Her tests can also be very confusing. Pay attention to details.

She's a nice person and will help you out when you need it, and she's easy to talk to, but her grading makes the class kind of difficult. There are very few points in the class, so if you mess up on just one project, it will be very hard to make an A in the class. She posts grades on blackboard really quickly, which I really liked.

Holly Payne seems to be a great woman- she's really nice- but her grading sucks- she's too critical on the speeches/ presentations requiring enormous emounts of work to be done and turned in perfectly. Her tests are alright but unless you really want to take lots of time on a class that should be an easy A...take ANOTHER TEACHER!! :)

I thought Dr. Payne was a good professor and not bad to look at all semester either. She is fair and it is fairley easy to pass if you just do the work, if your lazy and dont like to do your work till the last minute you should drop out of school anyway. Dr. Payne gets an A from me

She tries really hard to get as much information out in class as possible. She is a nice person but as a teacher she needs to work on her skills. There are two tests and they are really hard but if you do really well on everything else you will be fine in the class. If you could find another teacher to take for this class I would.

Ms. Payne is an excellent teacher. She always makes herself available for help and gives around 4 opportunities for extra credit. Her midterm is 50 multiple choice over the chapters covered and the final is 50 multiple choice over the last chapters covered. Her notes are on PowerPoint or the overhead and there aren't too many. There is one interview, one group problem solving, and two speeches but they are easy if you listen to her. The only downfall is the grading scale. It can really hurt a person but overall she is one I greatly recommend and she's really friendly.

This class should be easy, but she grades really hard. She smiles a lot so I liked that about her... but she grades like you are a Communications major. I wouldn't recomend her if you just want a gen ed out of the way.
