Mr. Slater is a heck of a guy. He's a great teacher, you can really tell that he cares not if you're just present and accounted for, but if you get it. He really wants you to get something from his class, and from the other students around you. The only way to have a bad time or bad grade in this class is if you really REALLY try to screw up. I've learned a lot, wish he taught more classes.

Mr. Slater is funny, insightful, refreshing and extremely intellegent....lets not forget a master of music and quotes many song lyrics that pertain to drugs in the course of the semister!
Overall Bill is a bit hard to follow sometimes and will come at you out of left field it seems. He does amazing test reviews and study guides, but you have to study them! You have to read your book, and you have to participate in this class. The group project was lengthy but he's very fair. He allows for a curve and the final is open note. Take good notes thru the semister (including notes from your previous test) and you'll be fine in his class.
He is much more interested in did you learn anything here, then do you have an A in here.....he's an awesome guy and a great teacher! Billy Bob Rocks!

Sly Bill's class on drugs took me way back to the times when
we had DARE meetings in elementary school. Bill brought back happy memories of the giant DARE dog mascot, and to the times of our DARE instructors constant battle with his false toupee that just wouldn't quite lay evenly on his oily head.
Yes Bill your class was a sweet breath of air in my smoke filled lungs!
Baby you da greatest!

Don't get me wrong, Mr. Slater is a nice man. But he doesn't present the material well. In the end, he will probably give you the grade he thinks you deserve. There is one big project that he requires from every group, which takes up about half of the semester. But only one day for a group. His tests are really hard though, you definitely have to read the book. His final was awlful, and it was open book.

Mr. Slater is an awesome guy. The class mostly revolves around a group project that is not too difficult. As long as you have some interest in the class you will be fine.
Really a fun class and a fun teacher.
