Dr. Christian is passionate about literacy and is successful in passing on that excitement to her students. If you show up for her class and just do exactly what she tells you to do, it will be an easy A. Get your field work done as soon as you can. It will help you out in the long run. Good class...I highly recommend Dr. Christian for this class.

Dr. Christian is a wonderful teacher. She is always willing to help and if you ever have any questions, just email her or stop by her office. There is a lot of work for this course, but you learn a lot.

I had this class as an internet class and enjoyed it. This is a wonderful class, but you do have to work hard. At first it all seems overwhelming, but it is broken down into weeks, so it is fairly simple as long as youdo the work and participate in the discussion boards. Make sure you follow ALL directions on a project or you will be docked in your grade, but Dr. Christian grades very fairly. I would encourage everyone to take this course.

Dr. Christian's Literacy class is a good one. She has projects for her assignments.
This is an online class (the one I took). Be careful to do the annotations and book references just like she wants, or your grade will be docked.
This is a good chance to get creative and have fun with PowerPoint and/or websites. It's a good idea to know PowerPoint at least and also MS Word before you take this.
Another hint: pick a book for your book review that isn't a huge novel. I did this, but wouldn't next time.
She's a really nice teacher, and always emails you back right away if you have a question.
You learn a lot of good hints for teaching too. Another hint: always check your calendar and get your work done on time.

I took this course as a web course. The text book was actually used and was helpful. Dr. Christian responded to emails immediately and posted annoucements regularly. We had two additions to our Electronice Portfolio but both were easy if you put in the effort. The other part of our grade came from postings on Blackboard due every other day. There is not an overload of work. Dr. Christian is very reasonable.

This is a good class for this course. Three critical performance papers, school visits, and you create a children's book from scratch (which includes writing and compiling it into a bound book). Dr. Christian is helpful and somewhat flexible with her deadlines. Although there is a lot of writing and the course is time consuming, she is fair in her grading and doesn't give you any b.s. She knows how to teach!

Dr. Christian has no idea what is going on. I do not feel that I learned anything from this class. I have spent most of my Christmas Vacation trying to learn from the text what I can to prepare me for my next class. She lost assignments and didn't know when they were due. She was very unfair about turning assignments in. She actually let some people have the entire semester to do the same work I had to turn in in October. She is such a scatter brain she probably didn't even realize it. If you want to teach yourself because your teacher can't then take this class.

This woman has lost her flippin mind. She has the maturity of about a high school student. She even read us a childrens book aloud in class. I know a lot of people incorrectly say that their teacher's do not like them, but she really hates our class because we are not jumping up and down and acting like we are kids. I know that I deserved an A on the final, but she realized that we were all making good grades so she is grading everything else to the grade that she wants them to make. She is a yuppie, who does not know how to talk to people like adults.
