Help me

I love Mrs. Marchionda and her 308 course. She was very easy to talk to and met with me any time I needed for additional one-on-one attention. This class is student led for the most part so do your homework in order to get the most out of the course! The final was cumulative but she took her questions almost directly from the other tests.

She is a very nice lady on the side but does not know how to teach correctly. If you had a question in class she would reword it to make it what she was able to answer that she knew was right. Her tests are horrific and she says she gives half-credit but it's hard enough to just get that. She can only meet after your class with her and even in her office she really doesn't help you that much. With the new restrictions and rule for these classes, math 205, 206 and 308 she will try every way in the world for you to fail and all she says is i guess i will see you next semester with a smile on her face. Do NOT take her if at all costs! Hope this helps you all.

I thought this class was very difficult. You receive many worksheets and you have to solve real world math problems. I recommend that you study and know the material...it will help you on the final.

Hope is such a great teacher! She doesn't take attendance but i promise if you miss you will get behind. We covered a lot in one class. She is willing to help you with anything you need. I sat in her office for an hour before the final and she helped me. Great teacher and really fun and laid back. Take her if you can!

Dr. Marchionda is a very nice professor; you can't help but to like her personality. However... I think she thinks geometry is the only class worthy of our time. She assigns homework every night (she only takes it up once in a while, which she will tell you when) but it takes forever and doesn't count for anything anyway. You have all kinds of stupid, busywork assignments (hw, papers!-we've done 3 so far, presentation over historical geometer, geometer sketchpad assignments, etc.) all of which take you hours to complete, and all together only count for 20% of your grade. I would have an A if it counted for more. Your tests count for 60%, so you better do good on them if you want a good grade. But good luck! she gives tests that are way too long. Only one person in my class completed the first test- I only got through half of it. She told us she would take that into consideration, but she only gave us another hw assignment she would count for 10 extra credit points if you got it all right. She won't let you come early or stay after to finish your test, she believes you should have these problems down so that you can answer them without any thought. If geometry is your life and you want to spend hours upon hours studying for this class alone, Dr. Marchionda is a really nice person to take. If you have other classes to worry about, take someone else if possible!!

The grading scale makes this subject very hard. I had a 74 percent and the grade I recieved was a D. She is a very nice lady, but her tests are extremely hard and she doesn't give at all. She grades very tough. There is all sorts of homework, but she only took it up once. This class caused me all sorts of problems. I had to spend almost all of my free time working on this class, and it still wasn't good enough. I am taking her again in winter term and I'm not looking forward to it. This class is so hard, and so demanding it was insane. Dr. M is very nice, but very very hard.

When I came to post an evaluation for Mrs. Marchionda, I expected to see all great remarks. I really enjoyed the class, and she made the material so easy to understand. She was available to meet before every class period, and had plenty of other times you could go see her. All I did was do the problems she assigned in the book (which she doesn't take up), go to class every day, and barely look over my notes before the test, and I received a 99% in the class. Her assignments are very easy if you just do them. Not one of the assignments ever took me more than an hour. Ignore any of her bad comments, please, because she is an amazing teacher. If you want to pass it on the first try, take her.

Ms. Marchionda is a WONDERFUL professor. She explains everything in great detail and makes sure everyone understands before moving on. She gives her own free time to do study sessions before tests and always makes herself available to anyone who needs help. The material in this course can be difficult, but if you come to class every time and ask for help, you will make a good grade. I would highly recommend Ms. Marchionda.

Mrs. Marchionda is great! She was an awesome teacher and very helpful. She really loves what she does and knows plenty about it. Mrs. M is very caring and will help you if you just ask. The class is diffucult because it doesn't matter if you know HOW to do the math you must be able to EXPLAIN yourself, as you will when you become a teacher! Good luck!

This was a pretty easy course, but you have to be willing to devote all your time to this class. Although I am good at math I received a C simply because I didn't think the homework was necessary. Mrs. M. is nice and likes for everyone to know why things are the way they are. It's confusing but it's just the way she is!

I would tell anyone wanting to succeed in this course to take Mrs. M. She is one of the best teachers I have had at wku. She knows her content. She is always willing to help and wants to make sure everyone understands. I struggle with math but this class is one that wasn't difficult.

Mrs. Marchionda is very organized and helpful. She is always willing to make extra time for those who need extra help. She will stay after class with you or help you over the phone or through email. This course covers lots of material, so she has in class and out-of-class reviews before tests. You will write papers for a journal, which are an easy 10-20 points, and she also gives take home quizzes. Off all the teachers I have had at WKU, Mrs. M. is my favorite.

Mrs. Marchionda is a great teacher. I can't believe some of the evaluations I have read about her and this class. Some people obviously hold a grudge because they couldn't understand the material. This is a hard course, but Mrs. M makes it so much easier to understand. I would recommend to anyone to take this class under her. I am very grateful for the knowledge I obtained because of Mrs. Marchionda. She's great!!

She is a very good teacher. I don't know why people would say she doesn't know the material because she does. You just have to pay attention and do the homework that is assigned and you will be fine. She is very open to help and talk to you if you are struggling. She seems to understand that a lot of people have difficulties in math and she does her best to help you in any way she can. She has review sessions the night before the test. She gives you a review sheet a week before the test. Math is not my favorite subject, but if you do the work then you will be fine. She's also very nice, and doesn't get flustered, she's just a little shy.

Math is an awful subject for me. It always has been. Mrs. Marchionda is always willing to help. I did not pass the class the first time, and am currently enrolled again now. She is very clear with the expectations in this class which is very good. I plan on doing much better this time. She is very clear on the content and makes the subject understandable.

I struggle with math, always have. I went to Mrs. Marchionda mid-way through the semester and set up a time to come to her ofice for extra help. She came early (giving up time with her 6month old son!!) everyday before class to help me out. She always has a study session the night before an exam and will STAY UNTIL YOU FEEL COMFORTABLE with the material. She is super nice, and she does give homework everynight, but it's not alot, and the test questions come straight from there sometimes.

Mrs. Marchionda is one of the best math teachers I have ever had. She is always willing to help and she goes out of her way to make sure you are prepared. She holds study session out of her free time to ensure success on tests. She is a great teacher and is very fair. I highly recommend her to anyone.

Mrs. Marchionda is a very nice person. She really wants everyone to love her. Alot of people say she knows nothing about math but she has her masters in mathematics so i don't know how that's possible. It's the material that can get difficult. you are learning the why of math instead of the how to do it. she gives good examples in class, lets you work in groups, always answers your questions, and has study sessions before the test. she provides a pack of study notes that you buy at kinko's for like $7 and so most of the writing is done for you. you have occasional journal entries that are mostly opinion only and assignments in the textbook don't have to be turned in. she'll give an occasional take home quiz or assignment but they aren't too bad.

She wants you to like and she really is nice, but let me warn you about this class. SHE IS VERY HARD, I don't know if she understands the material herself, and then she trys to explain it. She doesn't give much partial credit. She doesn't even have time to explain it. For her, it's quanity not quality. And for me, a terrible math student, this class was the worst! I wouldn't take her unless you had too.

Mrs M is one of the best teachers I have ever had! She cares so much about her students. She is a light hearted person which makes class enjoyable. The couse was a little tough, but i think anyone who has the chance to take her should! I can't say enough positive things about her! TAKE HER!

This class is very hard! Mrs. Marchionda is not a really stong teacher. She gets flustered easily, and doesn't seem to understand the material. She tries really hard to get you to like her and she is a nice person. But she just doesn't know how to get the material across. She grades really hard, and does not give much partial credit. She doesn't have much time to meet with you, since she is part time. Take a different teacher!!! But if your schedule only allows this professor... GOOD LUCK!!!!

This class is hard! She isn't a great teacher. She doesn't explain the material very well. She also seems as if she doesn't know the material herself sometimes. Hey, if you like math, she will like you. However, she makes this subject even harder. Don't take her if you don't have too! Good Luck!

This is a difficult course to begain with, however, Mrs. Marchionda will not make iit any easier. She is a part time professor, so getting to meet with her is limited. She is a very nice person, but it was very hard for me to understand the way she taught. She often became flustered and then forgot half of what she was suppose to be teaching. She did this at least once a week. She grades very hard, and does not give much partial credit. She also does not explain why you missed what you missed. She seems to depend on the other teachers that teach this course, to explain how she should teach the material. The bottom line is that she is a very nice person, but I would take a 'seasoned' or experienced professor if you require lots of visit during office hours or math isn't your thing.
