I had Mrs. Kirwin a few years ago. the class is easy, but she will not let you give a speech on a topic that she does not agree with. I am a conservative and she would not let me give speeches on things that i agreed with, but she didn't. She is a crazy liberal. It is funny that she lost her election!! HA ha ha!!!!!

This class was an easy class, but a boring class. Mrs. Kirwan reads from her slides which can be found on the CD-ROM that comes with your book for easier studying, and is very redundant. She is a very conservative teacher and stuck in her ways, so when she grades on things such as your persuasive speech, a lot of it seems to have to do with what her position on the topic is. Personally, I did not like her and found her to be very diagreeable.

Ms. Kirwan is a really nice person. But, she grades everything way too hard. I gave an awesome speech the other day and I received a C on it. If you take her class, make sure you know exactly what she wants in a speech.

If you aren't scared to get in front of people then this class will be easy. Ms.Kirwan can be kind of a sarcastic with you if you don't pay attention. Come to class and do your work and she'll like you.

Ms.Kirwan is nice. The bad part about her is in the begining of the semester she is really nice and willing to work with you but by the end of the semester she is very moody. You can get the notes from blackboard. The test will surprise you because she gives very few notes and NEVER refers to the book but there are questions from the book on the test. The good thing is the tests are only 50 points each. If I were you I would not buy the textbook just the workbook. Good luck!

I hate public speaking, and Ms. Kirwan does not make it easy for you. She is rude and arrogant and will laugh at you or your classmates if they talk about something she thinks is dumb. She is not very helpful when it comes to writing your speeches, so you have to figure it out for yourself. If you can take someone else I would.

I had this class my first semester and found it incredibly easy. You should practice your speeches out loud a few times to feel comfortable with them. The tests are elementary and almost entirely multiple choice with a few short answer. She's friendly to everyone who makes any kind of effort at all.

The teacher is really rude, but her class was easy. We gave a lot of speeches, and she didn't grade too hard on them. The tests were few and easy as well. She takes a lot of the questions from the practice test on the CD that comes with the book.

Tests are extremely easy, but her grading on speeches can be tough. I think by the last speech, she is more strict. DO NOT WEAR JEANS on the last speech-she'll take points off even if you've been wearing jeans for every other speech.

IN this class yu have to pesent 3 speaches. You will take a mid term and a final and that is it as far as testing goes. I would recommend this teacher and class.

I am just not big on the whole speech class stuff anyways, but this teacher is most definately one to recommend. She is always kind to everyone and she doesn't expect a whole lot. She does have quizzes, a mid-term, a final, 2 speech requirements, a group project, and an interview that you must perform. It isn't difficult, but you must devote some time to the class. Quizzes are taken on ecourses, so it is okay to use your textbook. I would recommend her anytime for the class!!!

She gives the worst lectures in a public speaking class, complete with saying "um" all the time and just reading her notes off the computer. She goes way too fast with her notes. The speeches are too often and have very strict guidelines. She takes off points at her own will, without explanation, and if you ask her to explain something, she gives you major attitude. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS!

She was really nice. Notes were presented on PowerPoint and posted on the internet afterwards. There were quizzes, two speeches, and a group project as well as a mid-term and final (both had useful review sheets to help you study). I didn't find the class at all difficult and she had easy extra credit oppurtunities.

Professor Kirwan was an awesome lady. She is so nice and will always work with her students. The class was useless. I got nothing from the information. But it was fun and fulfilled requirements.

This class is very easy. Professor Kirwan grades very easy on all of the speeches. Don't worry about writing all the notes - instead just print the powerpoints off of the internet. She will usually have them on there. Print them before class and put extra notes she adds on them.
