Additional Comments Epley is a wonderful teacher who has the unfortunate job of teaching a horrible class. This is the second time I've taken Lit, the first time, I got a D, so I thought I would retake it. Honestly, THERE IS NO GOOD WAY TO TAKE THIS CLASS, but, since you must, I suggest Epley. I really hated the material, I'm a sciences major, and I could give two shits about Hemmingway, Shakespeare, or any of those dead guys whose writings people analyze ad nauseum. Still Epley made the class fun. He's a great professor. HE GOT ME TO ACTUALLY READ THE LIT. There is a lot of work to do, more notes than in some of my 400 level math classes, and a lot of quizzes, but he gets you to pay attention, and to think. All you have to do to get a C: take good notes and read the material, B: take notes, read the material and act interested, A: take notes, read material, pay attention, and actively particpate in discussions. If you do that, I would highly suggest you take Epley, even though his classes work your ass off.
