Dr. Taylor is my favorite professor. i thought that i would hate this course just because of the material, but i love it. you have an exam over every 2-3 chapters. attendance is not for a grade but he does give test questions that are not in the book. exams are easy and he prepares you very well. if you need a sociology credit, i highly reccommend taking his class.

The class itself wasn't very interesting to me, but I'm also not into sociology. Mr. Taylor though, was very nice. He is ALWAYS telling a story and he tries to joke around with his students. He tries to remember everyones name...He's almost got all of us this semester lol...if you want a pretty easy class, take him. As long as you Study for the tests, you should be fine. His final is not cumulative, BUT he gives you the option of taking a last test AND taking a cumulative IF you need to boost your grade. It's not required to take the cumulative though.

This class was sort of a joke, I went into it thinking I would really learn a lot about real issues and learn about things from around the world. Instead we spent a day talking about Wallmart products, then talked about babies, then talked about mountains. Nothing he talks about relates to the last thing he said. He is a very nice guy though, he let me make up a test I missed a month ago. We have 3 exams, and a bunch of packets we fill out in class. Basically know whats in the packets and you'll pass, and make sure he knows your face.

this is a horrible teacher! he rambles on about pointless things. he talked about rats for a week. he does not talk about any thing on the tests. some of the test were take home. no one in the class had a clue as to what chapter we were on or what the tests were going to be over. it was an esay A because of the take home tests. (he lost my first test and did not find it till one of the last class meetings)

AWESOME teacher. Very laid back. Tests are easy and he is actually pretty entertaining at times. He does like to talk about things that a re non-related to Sociology, but to me that just makes the class more interesting! I would definitely take him again. I did have him during the summer, so he might be different in the Spring or Fall.

This man is old and crazy. The dude was Mayor of the town he lives in once upon a time ago. He rambles like its his job, about the most random things. He spent an hour one day talking about the ways Westerns campus has changed....another two full days on High fructos corn syrup (not even one question on the test).... You have NO NO NO clue whats ever going to be on the test you just have to scan over the chapters when you study. If the class does bad enough, he will give take home exams and extra credit and what not. I go to class everyday...I'm one of like 10 that do. No one ever shows up to class...cause its useless. If you dont like to study on your own, don't take him.

This is an easy course. Mr. Taylor is extremly scatterbrained. He will be talking about one thing and the next minute talking about what he watched on television last night. His test are really easy. We only had three test the whole semester INCLUDING the final. Just do the chapter reviews, study those for about 30 minutes, especially vocabulary and you WILL make an A in the class.

This really isnt a bad course. The only thing is he literally talks the entire class. Usually not on anything on the exams. He often gets side tracked and tells many stories. If you study the vocab words from the chapters and never apy attention to what he says youll do fine.

Craig Taylor is the worst teacher I have ever had. He is completely boring and never lectures over the course material. He is always talking about his personal experiences. I didn't learn anything in this class. It's not even necessary to go. He does take attendance-sometimes-but it doesnt really matter I don't think he even pays attention to his students grades. He doesn't really tell you what is going to be on the test but be sure to study ALL OF THE VOCABULARY and study the review at the end of each chapter. If you do that, you will do well in the class. You have to teach yourself the material. Don't count on him for anything.

Mr.Taylor is the most scatterbrained man I have ever meet. He is a nice guy but he could ramble on and on about nothing for hours that don't even pertain to the lessons at all. He talks about crap like left handed people and his mother (as just 2 examples) and then gives this test with material he didn't even cover. You could probably learn the stuff better yourself from the book without coming to class. There was about 80 people in the class and on class days(unless it was test day) about 20 people were there, on a good day. There were 4 tests, no homework, no notes, no papers. Nice guy, not so good teacher.

What a funny class. Very boring and I took probably 1 page of notes the whole semester.. he just rambled on about this and that. Unlike previous semesters (so I've heard) we had exams :-( One was in class and was a bit hard, the other was take home which was awesome. The final was a short opinion paper. Easy class but do not expect to learn a whole lot. Oh, he also took attendance everyday!

Mr. Taylor's class was very easy. However, the class was also very boring. He tells many stories that often times do not have anything to do with the chapter. Attendance is not required, but it is important to make yourself well-know to him. He is a very friendly man that is always willing to help you in anyway. The tests were mostly vocabulary from the chapter that you can review on your own time.

Ok, I had him for night class a couple years ago, and I have him this semester. He has seemed to have gotten harder...the first time I had him for the class listed above, he talked for hours about things way over my head. He is a funny and intelligent guy, but pretty boring. He pretty much either gave us all the answers to the test or let us use the book, or let us take it home. However, beware, he has changed his ways apparently!

This was the easiest class I have taken at WKU! We had no tests, no papers, no assignments...nothing, and attendance wasn't required!! For our final we had to write a 2 page paper over a cartoon!! Take Taylor for anything you can, he cancels class often and you don't have to worry about studying for anything!!!

this class was very very easy, however it seemed pointless. I missed more classes then i went to,and when i showed up, i never even had my book or anything to write with, i never even paid attention unless it was review for a test and i got an A in the class. if your looking for an easy A, then take Taylor. He's a nice guy too, but hes absent minded. we took like 3 tests total, and on all of them, he mis graded them and had to take them back up. then he never gave them back to us for the cumulative final and then lost them so we had to show up at his office to pick up a new one. also, hes not much help if you need him for anything.

We didn't do a thing in this class. The only grade the whole semester was a one page essay, an opinion essay, as the final.... that was ALL. Attendance doesn't matter, and please don't waste your money on a book. I love Taylor! No, I didn't learn anything, but he's the easiest "A" you will ever get.

This is the most looked over class at western. He says attendence is neccessary, but you don't have to come. He will take attendence every day. We never had a first test, and our final consisted of a two page analysis over topics covered in the course. Buy the book, if you want it, if not, don't. You really won't need it. Truthfully, I averaged one class a week, and more at the end, and I got an A. Take this class! It is interesting, by the way!

Wow. Let me repeat myself. Wow. This class was nothing short of beautiful. I can summorize what you do in one word: nothing. If you are in the honors program and don't take this class, you are an idiot. Let me spell this out for you. We took one test the whole semster. ONE TEST. The freaking thing was take home! The only other work you do involves writing a paper one any topic you want relating to sociological topics of Great Britain. The final is a take home essay. Taylor is the man, I love him and will take him as many times as I can. Please don't buy the book, you'll be wasting your money. Go to class just for the fun of it. I enjoyed the discussions we had. Overall, this class is indescribably amazing and simple.

This is the strangest class I have taken. Dr.Taylor either babbles on about what is on his mind that day or reads from the book. Did not learn very much in class. But he gives you a study guide and if you study it, you can get an A. Recommend because you can get an A and can miss a class when you need to without it hurting you.

Dr. Taylor teaches this class by either babbling about what ever is on his mind today or by reading from the book. I learned very little in class and lots of people seldom came. But he gives study guides for every test and if you study these you can get an A. This is a good class to take for a SOCL elective because of the study guides and you can miss a class when you need to without it really hurting you.

Dr. Taylor is so interesting. I have taken all of his classes and I swear I learn more random info from him than any of my other classes combined. I love it!!! He loves politics, so you learn more about what is really going on in this country now and in the past then anything else. I think Dr. T is a god sent to WKU to actually teach things that people need to know but are never taught!!!

If you find yourself struggling in any of Craig Taylor's class, be sure to seek out a prescription of Thorazine because you're hallucinating. I had friends in this class that came six times...SIX TIMES! They didn't write the mid-term paper or the final paper (the only two actual assignments in the entire class) and still got an A for a grade. As a matter of fact, if you take someone other than Craig for sociology next semester, you should seriously reconsider having a labotomy.

Dr. Taylor, while a very nice man, is a terrible teacher. He spends so much time on his own personal life stories that he ends up completely off topic, yet still expects students to know what he "meant" to talk about in class. His tests make no sense, some of the questions didn't have answers, which he himself admitted! He then blames this on his mysterious "illnesses". There is no work outside a test, a paper and a final, and the class is very boring. I don't recommend taking any of his classes.

It seems to me that Dr. Taylor would probably be better to take in higher level classes, because those are more interesting to him personally. I think he's a very interesting guy, but I didn't take the class to hear all his stories. I was really very bored in the class, but getting a good grade was very, very easy. The tests come straight from the chapters in the book, mostly the vocabulary. If you want a class you can slack off in, this is good for you. I almost feel like it was a waste of my time and money, though. I feel like I basically paid for my grade, because there wasn't much teaching and learning going on.

where to start, where to start...this guy is a friendly guy, he loves theater so his lectures are somewhat dramatic. He knows lots about current events and goes on and on about boreing stuff. We were useing a new book (which is required but I could have done without it) and we went sooo slow! We only had three grades which were tests. They were all hard but somehow I came out with a decent grade. He tells you what will be on the tests. You take notes on your own which wasn't a big deal. I have a feeling his classes aren't very consistant so other classes may not be like mine.

mr taylor is a really nice guy who cares alot about his students. there is only one problem with him, all he ever talks about is INDIANA. his lectures never pertain to the actual chapters in the book and if they do he relates INDIANA to them some how. All u need to do is read the chapter and just know the KEY terms his test come straight from the chapters. also he offers e.c at the end of the semester!

Dr. Taylor covers a wide array of topics and does a good job of holding the interest of the class. Most of the course work involves writing a paper and discussing it with the class.
