Honestly I retook this class because I practically failed the first time. The one thing I did different that gave me a better grade was to simply do the practice quizzes. Yes the class can be redundant and sometimes boring but as long as you take the practice quiz your good! Although I still don't like the fact that your entire grade is based on 10 quizzes, but it might be just me.

Dr. L changed the style of the class for our group. He tried to do a semester using SAS based quizzes. They were so nit-picky that majority of students going into the final had below a 70% average on quizzes which made up 40% of your final grade. I ended up studying a lot outside of class and scoring identical scores to people that didn't even crack their book! The final was a take home, which ended up being a saving grace for most. The project assigned was not too difficult and only asked for us to demonstrate basic knowledge of sas coding. I enjoyed the class and the lectures, but the quizzes really peeved me off. I did end up learning a lot however which will help me on the thesis paper.

Terrible class, terrible teacher. Could be easy but he makes it difficult because he is hard to understand half the time. You would think he would get the point when half the class drops out after the 2nd quiz but no. He hates it when people call him a stats nazi but he is.

This class is difficult. There are 10 quizzes worth 10 points each. Dr Lebedinsky does providie practice quizzes on blackboard to help prepare for the exams. Most of the problems are done using either Excel or a program called GRETL. He gives an optional final that will replace your 3 lowest quiz scores. Overall, the class is hard, but not impossible. Dr L is available to meet with you, if you're having trouble. My advice is to do the practice quizzes and devote extra time to study. Dr Lebedinsky is tough...but fair.

First of all, there is not enough time spent learning in class on the material that he quizzes over the next week..There is no way that you can show someone how to do something one time and expect them to learn it..so this is pretty much a self taught class.
Second, there is NO homework and NO extra credit so with that being said the class is hard as hell, so good luck..
Dr. Lebedinsky is funny and with his personality he atleast makes the class somewhat bearable..

Alex's class is really hard. He does 10 quizzes worth 10 points. Most of the problems are done using excel or a program called GRETL, and it's fill in the blank so you have to plug in the answer exactly right. Using GRETL, if you get the first question wrong you will get almost all the questions wrong. He gives an optional final that will replace your 3 lowest quiz scores. Also the class is freakin boring.

This class could be an easy class but Lebedinsky is a stats nazi. The second half of class you have to ues a program call gretl and if you enter something in wrong you will miss all the answers. I failed the last four test becasue I entered something in wrong. I knew how to use the program and how to enter it in, but the numbers you will be using are big as shit and its easy to make an error. He likes to keep the class average around a 66 so good luck with the stats nazi.
The first four test are really easy but then after that it starts to get hard. You can go to his office and meet with him and he is glad to help but i'm certain that you will still make a human error when inputing something and it will cause you to wreck your test. The test are easy but they're timed so you don't have to double check everything that you need too. The way the test are, if you miss the first question to the test you will miss all the questions.
One thing that is very important and you must do is save your test. Before you hit submit make sure you copy all the questions and possible answers and save them in your email. The reason for this is because the stats nazi doesn't give you a review for the final and if you don't save these questions you'll be SOL. I was the only person in my to save the test and I had to email them to everybody. If it weren't for me nobody would have had a study guide for the final.
Good Luck with the stats nazi

Awsome teacher. The material is not bad and he teaches it very well. Just go to class take notes and do the suggested problems (they are what is on his quizes). Super nice guy, great class, I would take for another class any day.

This course was absolutely ridiculous!!! This teacher may meet with you to discuss your problems, but it really doesn't solve much. This is my first C EVER and I was only ONE POINT from a B and he still would not budge. The class is b-o-r-i-n-g, and if you don't get stats then you are screwed. I would definitely recommend taking any other teacher. Now I want to retake the course just to make up for my lacking one point "C".

Heard alot of bad things about the instructor before got in the class, but took it anyway. I like his way of teaching a lot better than the other professor I had last semester. No homework assignments, if make 81 out of 90 out of 9 quizes don't have to take the final!! I think he is a great teacher.

Ok so Lebedinsky is a nice guy and everything but his teaching skills are a little rusty. He gives you 1-2 quizes a week and there is only one test, the final. This makes it sound easy because its just quizes but its not. I was doing fine until the final and then I failed the class. If you get an 80% on every quiz you dont have to take the final but good luck with that! I wouldnt recommend him.

Their are no test if your happy with the grade you get for the best 10 out of 12 grades on homework. The work can be difficult though. The class had an interesting topic, and It was presented by someone who knows about the international market because he is a from The Ukraine. Lebedinsky was helpful for the most part but I found him to be more arogant than most proffesors and on occasion he really ticked me off. I dont know If its a european thing or what. I know your probably reading this too Lebedinsky. (he talks about these evaluations in class.)

Statistics is a rough subject however, Mr. Lebedinsky can pave the way for you understanding statistics. There are 9 quizzes total in this class. If you make a 9/10 every quiz, you do not have to take the final. If you don't make a 9 on every quiz, then he drops the lowest 2. Attendence isn't required but, it would be wise to attend.

I made a C in the class, but that was really my own fault. Don't get behind in the class because everything builds. The quizzes are not very hard. And you can get extra credit by guessing your quiz score (if you get it right, you get .5 point to add to your quiz score, which is worth ten points). If you do have to take the final, he let us have a 8 1/2 by 11 cheat sheet.

This was a shitty class to say the least. The class had 12 assignments each worth 10 pts and you drop the 2 lowest. One assignment is due every week except for the first two weeks and maybe another week during thanksgiving and finals week. The assignments ranged from easy to mind boggling...most of which were the latter. You aren't required to take the final unless you aren't happy with your grade going into the final in which case your assignments become 70% of you grade and the final would be 30%. I have a D now in finals week and opted not to take it because as hard as the assignments are, I would hate to see this dude's test.

Dr. L is okay, but i cant be too hard on him, since he trys to make Stats fun, which is obviously hard.
Overall there's 9 quizzes in this class worth 10 point each. if you accumulate 81 points at the end of the semester you'll be exempted from the final, which is cumulative and i'm sure would suck (i got exempted, which i would highly recommend everyone try to do). The quizzes are about every other week and over the material covered in that period. The quizzes can be short essay answered (like one sentence), true/false, but mainly multiple choice, it's a combination of everything sometimes. If you understand the class material, you should be okay in this class, but Dr. L doesnt mind people asking questions. Stats is boring, but you have to make the best of it.

I am not good with econ. Every econ class I have had I have gotten a C in. Dr. Lebedinsky is a good teacher though. There are ten quizzes worth 100 points, if you make a combined total of 81 you dont have to take the final. If you go to class, the class isn't that difficult. He gives you the exact problems to look over for the quizzes. I just had a hard time going to a 8:00 class that attendance is not mandatory and live an hour away. But, I think if I would have went more often I could have gotten a B and maybe an A. He is a very nice man...

Go to class and stay on top of the material (it's not difficult a little at a time). Otherwise I hope you can teach yourself (don't count on it...) I didn't even have to study alot, maybe 30 minutes per quiz (there are NO TESTS)...
TEACHER: Dr. Lebedinsky is a good teacher and a really nice guy. He really cares about his students, but he knows who is lazy.
WORK: He gives about 1 quiz, which is better than 1 test every other month because you stay caught up and don't have an overload... If you get an A average you don't have to take the final, but the final is not to sweat either.
THE TEXTBOOK is good for reviewing before tests, but it's not used in class.

This class was poopie. You have a quiz a week-night class-and a cummlative final. you have to really pay attention to understand what in the world he is saying. you can drop two quizzes and if you avg an A you don't have to take the final. But good luck doing that. It was one of those classes that really aggravates you to go to. Also pretty boring and don't count on leaving early.

Dr. Lebedinsky is a great guy. He can be really funny and he can be kind of corny sometimes but his class wasn't boring. He gives 9 quizzes during the semester and if you get 81 points you don't have to take the final. He doesn't take attendance but if you miss a lot it will probably hurt you. I took his night class and we always took the quiz and learned the new material during the first half and the second half was more examples of the new material. If you understand it you can leave during the break and be fine. He sends study questions that are VERY similar to quiz questions each week before the quiz. If you go to class and look over the study questions you shouldn't have any trouble getting a B.

Stats is hard so be prepared to stay caught up in class. There is alot of problem solving with formulas, cumulative final with a double sided cheat sheet allowed. Class has 9 quizes @ 10 pts/each w/ the final. Mr. Lebidensky is really willing to help, he gets to know each students name & face. Hard class, but he teaches the info really well. I highly recommend him.

What I really enjoyed about his class is that instead of tests he gives 9 ten point quizes throughout the semester. Since they cover less material I thought they were easier to study for, if you had a 90 average on those 9 quizes then you are exempt from the final(it can be accomplished I did it). The only down side to this class is he gets really excited about stats and lets face it, it isnt something to get that worked up about!

Dr Lebedinsky is a great guy who really cares about the success of his students. Statistics is a moderately difficult class; but not impossible. Dr. Lebedinsky gave practice examples and I found that working them several times added to my success on his quizzes. If you score 90% on all the quizzes and homework assignments you don't have to take the final.

I thought this class was easy; but, for the most part the rest of the class thought it was moderate to difficult. Dr. Lebedinsky is an excellent teacher. He reviewed the material before every test and encouraged discussion. He often made time to help students after class. I found him to be a very interesting person and thought the class was as well (perhaps due to the way he presented the information:)
I highly recommend taking this class with Dr. Lebedinsky.

I'm not good at stats, so the course was difficult for me. As he gained experience, he became a better teacher. Throughout the semester I believe he improved a lot as a teacher as far as understanding our needs as students. You have to show him that you care about your grade, and that you are willing to work hard for it. If you show him that, he will help you all he can. The cumulative final wasn't near as bad as expected, it was quite easy! He's a great guy with a great personality.
