This class was really interesting and Dr. Pickle is an awesome professor! If you were happy with your grade going into the final, you didn't have to take it. For those who did take the final, it was comprehensive, but I can't imagine it would've been very different from his quizzes or the midterm. He gave us practice sheets for the quizzes and the midterm and the following assessment was very similar to those practice sheets. Russian is easy if you show up to class and pay attention. The people who struggled were the people who missed class a lot. Dr. Pickle also has some cool stories to tell about his visits to Russia. Definitely take him.

This course can be difficult, but all foreign languages can be for everyone. If you study you will do fine. Mr. Pickle is a good teacher and if you are just interested in picking something besides Spanish and French then this is a good class to take.

I like Mr. Pickle as a person, he's a very nice man, but if you don't know anything about Russian, DO NOT TAKE IT! It is very difficult b/c there are masculine, femine, and neuter nouns with tons of congegation involved. If you took Spanish or French in High school stick to take b/c it's a lot easier to understand. Mr. Pickle is an army veteran and that's where he learned his Russian. He skips around a lot and can easily confuse you. Also, I practiced every night speaking and writing it and I still didn't understand it all that well.

Dr. Pickle was great. Not only did he drop our lowest quiz grade, on the last quiz, he assumed we all knew the information well and gave us all automatic 100s. He's an incredibly nice guy and willing to help out any student who needs it.

Mr. Pickle is a good teacher even though he is a little scatter brained at times. He knows alot about the culture and language of Russia since he was a soldier during the cold war. You have 2 tests and 4 Quizzes in which he drops the lowest quiz grade. This class was somewhat difficult for me but I worked hard and still got an A. Take this class!!!

Pickle may not be able to teach Personal Finances, but that's because his true passion is obviously Russian. He knows the language very well, and does a good job of making one of the most difficult languages easier to learn. He also has a lot of experience with Russian, he learned it in the Army during the Cold War. He's really nice, easy to work with, and has some great stories. Also, quiz grades weren't so good in my class, so he dropped everyone's lowest quiz scores and doubled their highest. Thought that only happened in high school. Great class, hard language.

Dr. Pickle is a super duper nice guy but is the most boring professor I have ever had. He stands at the front and basically reads the book verbatum. If attendance wasn't 5% or the grade I would have never gone. The content is easy but his tests are a bit tricky. Really understanding guy but just a boring teacher.

Don't reading the top part and think this class is CAKE or you want to take it. ONLY TAKE IT IF YOU HAVE TOO. This should be an internet class, he stands up there and goes over Powerpoint presenations and it is basicly an ouline of the difintions in the book and the headings in the chapters. So, if you have any common sense or any Finance background you are going to hate this class. I had a little bit going in but it drove me up a wall. And I could have got more out of not being there then i did being there. He tried to explain things, but it was never to working them out or showing you how you were or could use them in the real world. That is what the whole class was about- your PERSONAL FINANCES'. I could have read the book at home and never gone to class and "A"ed the class. It just stinked to have to be there for sooo long and that is all we did was look at overheads/powerpoints. But enjoy if you HAVE TO have it- take it.. I guess. I think he is the only teacher that teaches it at WKU.
