I took the Humanities Semester during the first semester of my freshman year. I really enjoyed all of my classes and my professors except for Dr. Logan. I got low grades on my exams after staying up and studying and then repeating back to her exactly what she told us she wanted us to say. Two guys in the class wrote the same exact things I did and one got an A and another a B. When I asked her about the exam she refused to discuss it and told me to "figure it out for myself." She gives long papers and threatens a lowered grade if they aren't the correct length and then if the paper is even a half of a page too short she returns it and refuses to grade it until it is lengthened. I found her nice, if somewhat nervous, in class but after class she has no time for anyone and really doesn't seem to care if her students succeed or fail. I found her highly biased towards her male students. The guys in the class could put forth a half-hearted effort and recieve the same praise that we girls would get for good and well-thought work. She cannot justify the grades she gives on papers or exams and usually refuses to discuss it or gives non-answers. The first few weeks of class she missed several days, which was not her fault, because of trips and an injury. She expected us to be understanding of her problems and her 50% attendance for the first two weeks, but shortly after decided to yell at the entire class for "sneaking out" after our history class and "coming into class hungover." I think she genuinely dislikes college students and thinks we are all drunken slackers. There were two students who had actually left and another student had reported that more were doing so and rather than looking back over attendance, Dr. Logan simply went off at all of us. They didn't even leave because they were 'hung over' and the students who were late to her class or didn't pay attention weren't either, she is just so boring and mono-toned that it requires a huge effort just to pay attention. I would sign myself up to be ripped apart by the rabid ladybugs that infest the ceiling of my dorm room before I would even contemplate setting foot inside the class of this horrible and bitter woman ever again.
