Dr. Handy is a very personable professor and wicked smart. Sometimes he doesnt realize that he is way over your head but if you call him on it he will not hesitate to bring you up to speed. Yeah so he is a little goofy but ask yourself would you want it the other way around. He connects with his students and puts you at ease by letting you know that he is a person also and yes he does enjoy alot of the same things we do. He is also extremely willing to help you in any way possible including allowing you to work on projects with the IH lab and believe it or not you will probably get paid to do it ( not too bad when you get paid to learn huh). I have met only a handfull of professors so worried about the wellfare of his students, their academics, personal lives and overall well being. If you take his courses be prepared to work but in an environment that is condusive to learning, fair, and well instructed.

He is a nice guy, but really goofy. He gets off topic really easily. He generally tries to give students a break, but most of the time this backfires. If anything you will have plenty to laugh about when you leave class.

I have Dr. Handy for numerous courses in college. He is a great teacher but often repeats himself from one course to the next. You can get all his notes from powerpoint online. Pay attention in class and you will do ok on exams but expect some surprises. DO NOT!!! allow the class to piss him off. If he ever gets ticked at class behaviour he will burn your ass with pop quizes and tough tests.

Option to drop final. Class notes can be printed off computer. Attendance is encouraged but absence is acceptable
